E-bikes come in all shapes and sizes, but when someone mentions a full-suspension carbon bike for just over €3.000, it’s hard not to take a closer look. But that’s exactly what Heybike with the Hero at the start, a powerhouse on two wheels, which I would like to show in a short story today.

It has fat tires and a full-suspension carbon fiber frame. It can currently be purchased on the manufacturer's website for just 3.100 € a price that is crazy considering the components used. The heart of the bike is the carbon frame, which is made of T800 carbon fiber and weighs only 2,8 kg. According to the manufacturer, it is equipped with a ten-year guarantee delivered.

The battery is integrated directly into the down tube and there are even different motor options available. A mid-engine or a Rear hub motor, each with different performance levels and prices. The mid-engine has a nominal output of 750 W and a maximum torque of 160 Nm. The rear hub variant, on the other hand, has 1.000 W and 100 Nm of torque, all with a weight of just 34 kg.
What about speed?
According to the manufacturer, every Hero is limited to 56 km/h. Whether in the city, on gravel, sand or snow – thanks to the fat tires, this is more than enough. In terms of the The battery provides range With 864 Wh, there is more than enough energy for almost 100 km on just one charge. Of course, these are numbers "under optimal test conditions“ and one should assume that the range will vary by about 30% depending on the terrain and driving style.
Now it remains to be seen whether the installed suspension is perhaps a little too soft for jumps and intensive off-roading, as has already been complained about in some forums. For city use, however, the Horst-Link suspension system at the rear is perfect in any case. The suspension at the front allows for up to 80 mm of travel and together with the 10 cm wide tires and a sprung saddle, this results in a lot of comfort.
Further features of the Hero
It also has a Shimano Altus nine-speed rear derailleur, hydraulic brakes and integrated lighting. There are even accessories such as a luggage basket, saddlebags, mobile phone holders and mirrors. However, if you don't have 3.100 € for an e-bike If you have enough money left, you can order the version with a rear hub motor for €2.600.
