Is it a bicycle, eBike or motorcycle? Many visitors at Tegel Airport asked themselves this question. Was three days long eROCKIT represented at the Greentech Festival in Berlin, provided information about the unique electric vehicle and offered test drives on the former runway. With 13.000 visitors and over 200 exhibitors, the Greentech Festival 2022 is the largest sustainability festival in Europe.
Nico Rosberg tests eROCKIT
The co-founder of the Greentech Festival, ex-Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg, also took the opportunity to try out the eROCKIT. The two-wheeler combines the best of a bicycle, eBike and electric motorcycle in one vehicle. You control the speed by pedalling. The brushless electric motor provides enormous acceleration and a top speed of 90 km/h. The eROCKIT produced in Hennigsdorf (Brandenburg) is approved as a motorcycle in the 125cc category.
"It's completely new and innovative that you set the gas with the pedals. I found that totally intuitive. It gave me exactly what I needed without even having to think about it. You made that really strong!” explained Nico Rosberg after his test drive.
Fun fact: eROCKIT is the only vehicle that you can legally "cycle" on the autobahn. Nico's verdict: “The driving experience was very, very sporty. The thing has real power! We are now driving 90 km/h. It's fast and fun!”
In addition to a special driving experience, the eROCKIT can also bring great benefits. The electric motorcycle does not emit any emissions, replaces the car for many commuters and a full battery charge only costs around 2,50 euros. Rosberg: “It has a range of 120 km, so there is no limit in urban areas or when you drive out. That makes a lot of sense.”
