Spin opens sustainable e-scooter location in Berlin!

As of today, Berliners can also use Spin's e-scooters. A new location is being launched with around 120 e-scooters in the Treptow-Köpenick district in the Adlershof district. With them, residents and commuters will be able to get quickly and easily from the S-Bahn to the technology park or to Alt-Adlershof. The mobility offer of the e-scooter provider continues to grow and is now for the first time not only available in North Rhine-Westphalia, but also in Berlin in another federal state. The new location is deliberately not located in the center of the German capital. From the company's point of view, there are more than enough offers for sharing mobility in the city center. It is therefore all the more important to also provide the Berlin outskirts with appropriate mobility solutions, namely in those areas where the offer is not yet sufficient.

Sustainable charging thanks to cooperation with Swobbee

Another plus point of the new location in Berlin-Adlershof: It is operated sustainably. This enables cooperation with the local company Swobbee. The Berlin Battery-as-a-Service Provider makes its infrastructure available from battery exchange stations, from which Spin employees remove the charged batteries and then distribute them via cargo bikes. There is no need to collect and bring the e-scooter to charge - and enables Spin to get off to a quick and uncomplicated start with its service in the capital.

“Working with Swobbee enables us to operate our sharing vehicles efficiently and sustainably. This is not only a plus for people's mobility in Berlin's outskirts, but also for the environment, ”says Hendrik Büchner, Country Manager Spin Germany. The battery swap station operator Swobbee is also satisfied with the cooperation: "We are delighted to have a new location partner at our side in Spin, with whom we can promote the traffic transition together," said Tobias Breyer, COO & Co-Founder of Swobbee .

Micromobility for the outskirts: from A to B in 15 minutes

With a view to the current traffic infrastructure in the Adlershof district in the Treptow-Köpenick district, Spin's new location is extremely useful. The new e-scooter offer is a useful addition to the existing local public transport, which so far has only offered a few offers for micromobility. For Spin, the first location outside of North Rhine-Westphalia is another important milestone on its mission to create a world in which e-scooters are only integrated into existing traffic concepts where it makes sense, based on local needs.
