Higher torque to weight ratio

With a maximum torque of 75 Nm, the compact new drive from the PW S2 series is more than 7% more powerful than the drive from the PW ST series. The weight has been reduced to just 2,85 kg (16% less than the previous model), making the drive one of the lightest in its class. This highly desirable combination of increased power, reduced mass and a 20% reduction in volume ensures that the new PW S2 range achieves one of the highest torque-to-weight ratios in the segment of large-displacement, versatile engines, making it strong, on-the-fly and user-friendly has performance characteristics.

Greater freedom in frame design

The reduced dimensions of the new unit give eBike manufacturers even more freedom when designing next-generation frames, featuring features such as increased ground clearance for better performance on technical terrain. Improved pedaling efficiency and feel

The new PW S2 series has a bottom bracket spindle that is 22,8 mm shorter than the PW ST series. This provides improved efficiency and a better pedaling feel, which combined with the automatic assist mode means an extremely light and comfortable ride. The new ISIS bottom bracket spindle of the PW S2 series offers increased strength and makes this new mid-range drive unit ideal for the needs of e-MTB riders. Being fully compatible with a double front chainring, the compact new drive unit opens up more possibilities for bike manufacturers.

Yamaha's new Display B is the perfect partner for the new PW S2 series drive unit. The 3 inch LCD display shows large format information in English, German, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish. It is installed in a central position and ensures that the handlebar area looks tidy and uncluttered.

Quick and easy daily setup

Display B is a system ('switch on and drive') that recalls the user's previously selected settings, e.g. B. the driving assistance mode or the lighting status (on/off). Its intuitive design allows you to change settings quickly and easily. To protect against theft and the weather, the device can be removed from the holder with a flick of the wrist. There is also an option to attach the display with a screw to make it even more secure.

Compatible with smartphones

The central position of the user interface frees up plenty of space on the handlebars for a smartphone holder and enables it to be powered via a USB Micro-B 1A connector, which prevents the smartphone battery from draining when using energy-intensive apps such as GPS.
