Chiptuning is often also eco-tuning! But what is it?

In times of climate change and high fuel prices, the top priority for many drivers is to drive an economical car, which is not just fun, but offers enough driving pleasure to make it a pleasure to drive. You too can drive economically and at the same time not with little fun if you have the engine electronics of your car modified by chip tuning at an eco-tuning specialist so that the performance characteristics are changed in order to achieve lower consumption. However, this also depends on your personal driving style. With eco-tuning, the engine output is not changed, but so-called "comfort circuits" of the engine are changed, which lead to short adjustment times and give the engine a sporty characteristic. This optimizes consumption.

Chiptuning is often also eco-tuning! But what is it?

In vehicles with a petrol engine, the eco-tuning leads to an immediate overrun cut-off, which in many cars is not activated immediately after the gas is released, but only a few moments later, which increases fuel consumption. This is due to the exhaust gas cleaning system, because air instead of exhaust gas moves through the exhaust gas aftertreatment system during overrun fuel cutoff. In modern turbodiesel engines, the so-called "feeding" of the engine is prevented, which artificially increases the late injection in order to keep the turbocharger running. This is the case with many diesel engines because at low speeds they often have the problem that they have too few exhaust gases for the turbocharger.

In addition, with eco-tuning, pre-injections are minimized as much as possible, which are programmed by the manufacturers in order to hide the typical diesel nailing as well as possible. In addition, the ignition map is optimized so that consumption is as low as possible. However, this can increase nitrogen oxide emissions. In terms of price, the optimization of your vehicle amounts to 300 - 800 euros, and your car often also receives an increase in performance and a torque increase of up to 20 percent. This not only increases the savings fun, but also the driving fun. This means that nothing stands in the way of eco-tuning.
