Too nice to drive? Then you own a trailer queen

Often, the tuning of vehicles, inter alia, refers to the driving pleasure of the vehicle. However, there are also tuners that optically repair their vehicles so that the cars are practically no longer mobile. Again, it may have been tuned to the engine, but it is no longer used. If you own such a car, you should know the term Trailer Queen. However, this term is unknown to many tuning enthusiasts. So what exactly does Trailer Queen mean?

Trailer Queen in the tuning scene

In the tuning scene, the term Trailer Queen describes a tuning vehicle, which is transported only with the trailer, so no longer driven itself. The topic however splits the tuning scene. There are fans and despisers of the chauffeured vehicles. But why is that? In vehicle tuning, many screwdrivers and Tuningbegeisterte convinced that the tuning may not make the car driveable. After all, the purpose of a vehicle is that it can drive itself from A to B, and tuning should not deceive this sense. Others, however, understand the reasons why the owner has turned a vehicle into a Trailer Queen.

Why does a vehicle become a trailer queen?

On the one hand, a vehicle can become a “trailer queen” because driving is simply too good for the owner. For example, if the underbody of the car has been chrome-plated or gold-plated, the chrome could be damaged while driving. Of course, particularly complex paintwork can generally lead to stone chips, so that the owner prefers to transport the car in a trailer. Even oldtimers that have not been particularly modified are often transported by their owners on trailers in order to keep the loss of value and wear and tear within limits. On the other hand, the lack of safety in a vehicle can be a reason for preferring to transport it on a trailer. If the brake discs were chrome-plated, the vehicle is simply no longer drivable.

Even with modified or non-existent lights driving can be difficult. It can also be illegal. Modifications must be allowed in many countries. Finally, modifications to the vehicle that endanger public roads do not receive any approvals, which is why driving should be left out of this aspect as well. Often, show cars are vehicles that are driven in trailers to the exhibition. So the car can be cleaned and polished in peace and is no longer exposed to the road conditions and the weather before it is issued. Closed trailers protect the vehicle from rain.

Of course that had not happened yet!
