This vehicle caused gasps in the Las Vegas Convention Center for the SEMA Auto Show - at least at first. Apparently someone had actually grabbed a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing and provided it with tuning parts and a flashy blue interior. But the breathing and the pulse quickly returned to normal regions because the SL is not real, but a replica. A Mercedes-Benz SLK 32 AMG is hidden under the dreamlike shell. The vehicle comes from the Californian custom label “S-Klub LA” and owner John Sarkisyan and took a good 6 months to build. The tuner is no stranger to the end of 2017 and spring 2018 there was already a Porsche 356 and even a Porsche 912 from S Klub. So now the SL replica!
Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Replica
While the look with the gray paint, in our opinion, is quite successful, the interior is likely to cause a lot of discussion. Because the tons of suede and leather are shining blue. There are in the middle the speedometer of the SLK 32 AMG and the center console reveals the modern-day basis. There is also a Nardi Kallasti sports steering wheel made of wood and a blue suitcase and a bottle of whiskey on the hat rack. Even the straps are in blue. By contrast, not much has changed under the long hood. The AMG-V6 with compressor supercharging of the SLK still works here. However, there was an upgrade to 400 PS from NeedsWing via chip tuning. Striking detail outside are the three-piece 17 inch HRE Wheels alloy wheels. These are HRE Performance 305 wheels with eye-catching Toyo Proxes Sport Max.

Noticeable because the 215/40 and 225/40 wide slippers got a yellow Toyo tire sticker. A look through the spokes of the rims reveals a modified brake system and here the tuner installed a Brembo brake system with perforated brake discs and red painted brake calipers. And obviously there was also a lowering. John Sarkisyan installed a KW coilover kit that is individually adjustable in rebound and compression and ensures a significant lowering of the pseudo-SL. As always, you can of course argue about taste. But even if it had been a “real” SL Gullwing, we would find that quite justifiable.
