After Brabus Business Lounge Mercedes V-Class the German tuner Brabus has made another model from the Mercedes fleet especially for the Geneva Motor Show! The choice was a lot on the small series from 2 years ago in the form of the Mercedes G500 4 × 4². That of course even more power raged after the Brabus intervention in the extreme off-roader shouldn't be a surprise and the name "Brabus 550 Adventure 4 × 4²" already partly reveals the result. In Bottrop, the 4l V8 biturbo of the G-model was taken to the chest and the 422 hp but factory became a whopping 550 hp, and thus 128 additional horses. And the maximum torque also grows by a whopping 190 Nm to an impressive 800 Nm. How it works? Take two new high-performance turbochargers with a larger compressor unit and a sophisticated trunk group including stronger axial bearings, increase the boost pressure and of course chip tuning using an additional control unit should not be missing. A revised electronic boost pressure control as well as perfectly adapted maps for the injection and the ignition take care of the rest.

The result: the Brabus 550 Adventure 4 × 4² hammers to 6,7 km / h in 100 seconds and is exactly as fast as the one mentioned above at 210 km / h Brabus Business Lounge Mercedes V-Class. If he were allowed to go even more, but to be on the safe side, the load is electronically regulated. And you can hardly believe it, but in terms of looks, Brabus was of the opinion that the G 500 should do even more than the actually very extravagant series counterpart. Specifically, you can achieve this with a new front protection bar, a massive underrun protection including a cable winch, new grilles and the black-tinted xenon headlights behind them also do their part. Even small details such as the indicators on the fenders and the new rear lights have been revised by Brabus. So that everyone can recognize the Brabus 550 Adventure 4 × 4² as such, the Brabus logo is emblazoned in the middle of the new radiator grille. The changes continue with a new bonnet made of matt carbon fiber, branch deflectors from the front bar to the roof rack at what feels like 2 meters high. And additional LED lighting units are enthroned on the roof even further up.

The front light bar is the largest and is integrated directly into the roof rack. It can be used as a flasher or as a high beam. The looks of drivers of a vehicle who are granted the right of way with the flasher are certainly priceless. 😂 Another nice detail is the two rear LED lamps that serve as swiveling searchlights and illuminate the area around the Brabus 550. They can even be activated by remote control, which makes it possible to find the monster in the dark. At the rear, you can't really overlook the swiveling spare wheel carrier including the beefy carbon cover, including the 4 × 4² logo, and it is equipped with a complete wheel the size of the four driven wheels. At the rear, Brabus also installed a new apron with integrated fog and reversing lights and a noticeable reflector in the middle should not be missing. A highlight on the sides are definitely the electrically extending steps that make getting in a little easier. Matt sealed carbon fiber covers for the shells of the exterior mirrors are also a detail of the Brabus variant. And the chassis is also pure high-tech because height-adjustable struts made of extremely strong aluminum are used here. They offer the possibility to adjust the height of the Brabus 550 Adventure 4 × 4² on the front and rear axles as it is currently popular.

And comfort can also be set because the driver can also configure the chassis with 4 different damper settings and all of this from the touch control panel in the cockpit. However, the function of the panel allows even more and so, for example, the control of the cable winch or the roof lights can be controlled with it. A highlight is definitely the adjustable camouflage mode in which the complete lighting of the Brabus 550 Adventure 4 × 4² is deactivated by pressing a button (also on the panel). It is questionable whether the "camouflage mode" can be described as such in view of the Brabus stainless steel sports exhaust system with valve control. Certainly the adjustable “coming home” mode changes little and certainly not the roaring “sport” mode. And of course it was also about the interior and so the Brabus upholstery has created an exclusive leather ambience, which is perfectly matched in color to the exterior paintwork and is once again significantly more valuable than the standard interior.

The Brabus details can be seen everywhere from the aluminum pedals to the door locking pins. And the backbenchers also indulge in additional luxury because Brabus installed a new center console and a touch control panel in the rear with a lush 4,3 inch screen diagonal. The start mode of the panel shows a classic analog clock and anyone who wants can control everything from the seat functions to the air conditioning via the panel. Of course, the volume of the Comand system can also be regulated or the movable LED reading lights that provide sufficient illumination over the rear individual seats.
