At the beginning of the year Tuner referred ARES design at the presentation of the Project Panther (quasi a new edition of De Tomaso Pantera) on another project called "Project Pony". Based on the exclusive Ferrari GTC4 Lusso, Ares Design wanted to bring back the Ferrari 412i of the 80s. And that is exactly what they have now done and presented the first pictures of a completed vehicle. The Italian, who was particularly influential in the film "Daft Punk's Electroma", was Ferrari's further development of the 400i, 400 and also of the 365 GT4 2 + 2. However, it was anything but popular or even a box office hit! And now it is back with a 6,3-liter V12 and 690 hp and the technology of the 21st century. The exterior design of the 80s has been subtly modernized, but the core idea is still clearly visible in any case.
Ferrari GTC4Lusso as Ferrari 412
From the front, the bumper with the distinctive air inlet is most likely to remind you of the GTC4Lusso, but at the latest with the pop-up headlights it is over. Completely new is the rear area of the large coupe, the hatchback of which has been completely removed and is adapted to the rear of the 4, right down to the round taillights and the slightly upward-pointing 412-pipe sports exhaust system with carbon diffuser. Even the wheelset has a retro look because the distinctive 5-spoke star rim was also available with this design - a few inches smaller - on the 412. A subtle lowering that does justice to the style of the vehicle and there was even a significant one Weight saving.
A lot of carbon saves weight compared to the GTC4
ARES Design uses a lot of carbon which means that the Project Pony has less curb weight than a factory GTC4Lusso. And the interior has also been changed. The most striking feature here are the new ventilation nozzles, own design motifs but also the completely new leather interior and lots of small details. It goes without saying that this strictly limited project also has its price. You should plan at least € 700.000.
