Without words - front-wheel drive and 900 PS in the Ford Focus RS

And if you think it doesn't work anymore, an even crazier Ford Focus RS comes from somewhere ...! After we were already of the opinion at the beginning of the year that a Ford Focus ST (MK2) with insane 640 PS & 800 NM torque and "front-wheel drive" already represents the absolute maximum, we are now taught better. Glen (owner) - better known in the social networks as @GLENNNUTTON - has managed to elicit an incredible 2 PS from a MK900 Ford Focus RS. And as you probably know, the RS, which was presented for the first time on July 22nd, 2008 at the London International Motor Show, was only available with front-wheel drive. Nothing has changed with this car. The 2,5-liter turbo five-cylinder and BorgWarner “K16” turbocharger deliver 224 kW (305 hp) ex works at 6500 rpm and a maximum torque of 440 Nm at 2300 to 5500 rpm.

the triple power over the series

In combination with the front axle construction ("Revo-Knuckles") and the mechanical limited slip differential "Automatic Torque Biasing" from the manufacturer Quaife, the RS brought the performance quite consistent and sporty on the road. With currently three times the performance, however, even this construction is hopelessly overwhelmed. Even the specially built Syvecs Powertrain Control Controller in combination with the Boost-by-Gear function (allows the torque to be adjusted separately on each gear) does not manage to regulate the performance so that you can pass the stamp without problems. For this very reason, the manufacturer Syvecs probably also casually indicates that the use of the control unit is actually intended only for racing.

High-end brake system and motorsport rims

In unfortunately very wet conditions, the focus in the video (further down) does not accelerate to 6 km / h in under 100 seconds. Was set in this experiment, the performance on about 670 PS. The situation is much different at higher speeds, and so the bullet at about 150 km / h brings the power quite consistently on the road. Of course, for the increase in performance the complete engine including turbo, all innards, the exhaust system and everything that had to do with the power transmission has to be revised of course. And visually, the RS is not necessarily to be called an underdog. There was an ACR front bumper with Zunsport grille without brand emblem, a rebuilt bonnet with large air vents and the 19 inch measuring matte black JW Racing Motorsport rims, in combination with a significant lowering, make the difference to the series clearly. Behind the Alus hides a completely modified brake system with 356 mm large discs which shines among others with well-known manufacturers such as K Sport, M-Tec and Cosworth Parts.

already ex works with large rear spoiler

At the rear, however, the built-in apron is almost series (apart from the black reflectors) and the large roof spoiler is already installed ex works on the MK2 RS. By the way, the light blue full foil comes from the team AMD innovation, The craziest highlight in our opinion, but in any case, the exhaust system from now on with crazy soundscape the exhaust partly transported directly from the engine compartment into the environment. That is to say the large tailpipe on the right side of the stern is not solely responsible for the soundscape. In the interior there was a roll cage, an OMP sports steering wheel and a special additional instrument to keep an eye on all key data of the engine. Crazy part! If we receive timely information on other changes not mentioned before, there is of course as always an update for this report.
