In the shark tank of an Audi Q5, Mercedes GLC, BMW X3 or even the Volvo XC60, the Infiniti QX50 is anything but easy. Especially as further candidates such as the Lexus NX or the Cadillac XT5 more and more leave the exotic status and poaching in the repertoire of compact SUV. So what do you score? Maybe with a high-quality workmanship brings the nice details like open-pored wood veneer? Or with the largest trunk in its class? Or with the brand new four-cylinder with variable compression? After all, the development of the engine allegedly took 20 years to complete. In a nutshell: The piston stroke is controlled by an electric motor and this ensures a variable capacity from 1.970 to 1.997 ccm³ with a compression of 8 to 1.

The result is the 272 PS coupled to a CVT transmission and a real test consumption of about 11 liters in urban and rural road traffic. So far, in our opinion, no Arguments that make the QX50 somehow "special". It works quite differently when you turn on the tuner Larte design to the Japanese lets. Then the result is definitely "specifically"! Larte has designed a small aerodynamic kit for the QX50 that ensures a very successful look. The visual highlight at the front is clearly the new radiator grille in black with a central emblem. Compared to the mesh grille of the series, the new design looks much more aggressive and beefy. The radiator grille is combined with a sporty spoiler lip that hugs the entire bumper. And the inserts for the air inlets on the right and left also come from Larte's repertoire. And something has also happened at the rear.

Here, a rear apron approach in diffuser optics was developed which is particularly impressive with the 4 chrome-plated tailpipes. The QX50 comes with the small chrome-plated spoiler lip between the taillights from the factory. The design harmonizes perfectly with the Larte Parts. Even the factory alloy wheels don't want to look out of place. The aerodynamics package looks particularly successful in black and, in our opinion, is a welcome alternative to the constantly growing one Widebody delusion.
