The Japanese team around 3D design As one of the first tuners ever in the summer of last year has a first body kit for the then new BMW 5er of the G30 / G31 series presented. First there was a front spoiler attachment for the M-Technik bumper and in the spring of this year, a subtle spoiler lip was shown as an optional variant in carbon fiber. Sill swords, a roof spoiler, a distinctive spoiler lip for the tailgate and a rear diffuser that took some getting used to were also available from the start. Although the 3 fins of the component look successful and quite sporty, what covers the tailpipes of the optional sports exhaust system on the right and left is probably a matter of taste.
Carbon body kit by 3D design
We did not really like it because the basic shape of the rear through the diffuser changed too much. Tuners like AC Schnitzer show how it can be done better. And 3D-Design has made this, optionally available in the noble carbon fiber, body kit now also suitable for the top model in the form of the M5. Again, there is the front spoiler, the side skirts, the spoiler lip and the mentioned rear diffuser. And also a stainless steel sports exhaust system including carbon tailpipes seems to have ready. And with high probability this comes, as well as on the G30, with flap function.
also an in-house wheel set is available
Unobtrusive and understated, the rear end of the M5 is no longer at the moment. And also the in-house 3D design wheel set (5 spoke rim) has been made suitable for the potent sedan and housed perfectly in the wheel arch thanks to a subtle lowering. On the other hand, the wheel set with its dark gray classic finish is quite successful on the M5 and is available in different surface finishes. And there are also some changes for the interior. For example, there is an aluminum pedal set, floor mats including 3D design embroidery or alternatively longer shift paddles in red.
at the end a successful performance
And if you want, you can also decorate the body with an individual decor sticker. All in all, the carbon body kit from Japan is definitely an alternative to the established German competition and the components certainly provide more contact pressure and thus not only an improved look. Incidentally, we have no information on the Carbon Air Intake System. This is available for the G30 / G31, but we don't know whether it is also available for the M3 in terms of 5D design. If new information is received, there is of course an update for this report, as always. It is best to subscribe to our feed and if there is something new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures.
