"Opel O-Team Zafira Life" concept for Germany premiere

We were in Oschersleben last weekend and celebrated the 50.000 Opel Meet with around 10.000 fans and a good 2019 vehicles. And of course Opel was there too. There was even a world premiere to mark the “120 years of automotive engineering” anniversary. In addition to various 120-year-old special models, Opel presented the fourth generation of the popular Zafira Life large-capacity van there. And the “O-Team Zafira Life” concept car was an absolute highlight in Oschersleben. And of course the look and the name “O-Team” are no coincidence. The vehicle was inspired by the legendary GMC G20 Vandura from the American cult series “Das A-Team” from the 1980s. The "O" replaces the "A" (Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha) and of course stands for Opel.

The "O-Team Zafira Life" has similar fat wheels as the GMC and the front bar, the side skirts, the specially made rear wing on the roof and the striking color scheme are unmistakable. However, in the Zafira, a bright neon yellow replaces the red of the movie car. Opel Special Vehicles built the vehicle and chose a Zafira Life six-seater with a medium wheelbase and full equipment as the basic variant. Equipped with a 177 PS & 400 NM two-liter diesel engine, the "O-Team Zafira Life" is much faster on the road, especially due to the efficient eight-speed automatic, compared to the approx. 200 PS & 400 NM strong model with four-speed automatic from back then. And even the soundscape doesn't have to hide behind the small block V8 from back then. The sound of the "O-Team Zafira Life" is linked to the pitch of the V8 petrol engine using a sound module.

In addition, a tailpipe in the OPC design under the vehicle and ready. And so that the chases can be carried out successfully there were changes to the chassis and the brakes. The air suspension was persuaded to lower (Lowerable in parking position via remote control) and the matt black 20 inch lightweight forged wheels from BBS with Michelin Cup 2 tires and PinStripe reveal a four-piston brake system with 380-millimeter discs at the front and light yellow brake calipers when looking through the spokes. And who is just wondering where he knows the exterior color scheme in dark blue, white and neon yellow for we have the answer. The concept study GT X Experimental looked quite similar at the end of last year and the Zafira should remember it. And also in the interior a lot has happened.

Above all, a sound system with 800 Watt system performance, the high-performance speakers, subwoofer and additional power amplifier transform the cabin into a concert hall. Another highlight are the performance sports seats from the Opel Insignia GSi, which are installed for the driver and front passenger in a combination of black and yellow. By contrast, 2 and 3 series come with two rotating "Captain's Chairs" with leather / Alcantara cover. George Peppard (Hannibal), Dirk Benedict (Face), Dwight Schultz (Murdock) and Mr. T (BA Baracus) would probably be thrilled with the new edition even TÜV approved and approved.
