And here comes the latest project from Singer Vehicle Design. Based on a Porsche 911 (964), the tuner has presented a breathtaking bullet with air-cooled four-liter boxer engine limited to a small series of only 75 copies. The highlight, of course, is the engine that was created in collaboration with Porsche Pope Hans Mezger and Williams. Incredible 9000 RPM. and 500 PS ensure consistent propulsion in the 990 kg 911er.

Singer achieves the low curb weight by using a lot of carbon, magnesium and titanium. The rims fitted with Michelin tires are also made of magnesium and come from BBS. There is also a carbon-ceramic brake system from Brembo and a magnesium transmission from Hewland. These components result in the “Singer Dynamics and Lightweighting Study” (DLS) which was perfectly tailored for the road by racing driver Marino Franchitti and auto journalist Chris Harris.

The thought-provoking impulse for this project came from a longtime Singer customer named Scott Blattner who also owns this absinthe green copy with the blood orange interior. Incidentally, the starting point for the engine is a 3,6-liter six-cylinder boxer from the 1990 Porsche 911 (964), which delivers 250 PS ex works. The extensive changes include a ram air intake, a custom-made airbox, cylinder heads with four valves per cylinder, two injectors per cylinder, aluminum throttle valves, titanium connecting rods and a carbon intake manifold.

Incidentally, Singer installed a second oil circuit so that the boxer engine does not die in heat and thus skillfully remedies the problem of extreme warming. And the exhaust system with "Inconel" nickel-based alloy and titanium also contributes to the performance. The result is twice the power and, in conjunction with significantly optimized aerodynamics, the performance of a current Porsche 964 GT911 RS should now be achieved in the 3. The 75 copies are built by Williams in Oxfordshire (England) and it is not unreasonable that costs of up to 1 million euros must be expected.

We aimed a bit at a “normal” Singer conversion based on at least 4000 hours manual work good 400.000 € devours. The exclusive special series should be much more elaborate and of course more expensive. If we get further details about the changes, there is of course an update for this story. About the update you will be informed if yours Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
