Did you know that the current Porsche 718 Cayman (type 982) is not a new development? It is basically an extensively modified Type 981. But Porsche still calls it the third generation and that is basically correct. The Cayman is on the same technical platform as the Porsche 718 Boxster (Type 982) and was presented to the public at the Beijing Motor Show in April 2016. Since then, the Boxster "and" the Cayman have been marketed under the 718 series. And just such a Porsche Cayman became the days in the Indonesian magazine Hawk'n'Poke published and we have to show you the Zuffenhausener course. All around, the Cayman got a subtle TECHArt body kit missed that ensures exactly the right places for individual accents.
The body kit includes a subtle front spoiler, a fixed rear spoiler and an aggressive diffuser in the bumper. But not only the body kit makes the difference compared to the series, the Brixton WR3 wheelset in the dimensions 21 × 9 inches on the front axle and ample 21 × 11 inches on the rear axle stands out. So that the wheel set sits so perfectly in the wheel arch, there was also an H&R coilover kit and so the ground clearance can be adjusted individually and to the wishes of the owner. And of course a sports exhaust system should not be missing because the four-cylinder boxer engine would certainly want to communicate its soundscape to the environment much louder than it is allowed to ex works.
The exhaust system is an ARMYTRIX Valvetronic Exhaust System that can be conveniently controlled using a mobile phone app and thus, in addition to the loud version, also enables a very subtle soundscape. Certainly 90% of the system will be set so that the exhaust flaps are open, whoever has heard the sound of such a sports exhaust system will be downright addicted to it and the flaps will probably only be closed in an emergency. There is not much more to say about the Cayman at the moment so we leave it with the pictures. Of course, if we get more information, there will be an update for this report, as always.
