The 488 Pista not only has the strongest eight-cylinder in Ferrari history, but is also the most dynamic variant of its series due to its lightweight construction technology. NOVITEC, the world's leading sports car refinisher from Maranello, continues to develop the talents of the mid-engine car with a tailor-made refinement program. Engine tuning in three different stages up to 590 kW / 802 PS and 898 Nm catapults the two-seater from a standing position in just 2,7 seconds to 100 km / h. The maximum speed increases to 345 km / h. NOVITEC high-performance exhaust systems in various variants are just as much a part of the range as excitingly styled and aerodynamically efficient carbon-fiber aerodynamic components. Another NOVITEC specialty is the high-tech forged wheels with up to 22 inch diameter developed together with the American manufacturer Vossen. Further options in the program are chassis modifications and exclusive interior design.
NOVITEC sports package - Ferrari 488 Pista
Although the 488 Pista is powered by the strongest V8 the Ferrari engine division has ever developed for road use, it is in the nature of a sports car driver to want even more power. The NOVITEC engine engineers have specialized in making high performance engines even stronger. The 3,9 Pista engine of the 488 Pista, with its twin turbo charging system, has the best prerequisites for additional dynamics, which can be increased in three stages. For this purpose, two NOVITEC N-TRONIC control modules are adapted to the engine electronics in the plug-and-play process, which supply the engine management with newly programmed engine maps for injection and ignition and increase the electronic boost pressure limitation. In order to further optimize the power output and at the same time to make the engine sound even more exciting, the installation of a NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system is also recommended.
Sound management with exhaust flap control
The exhaust system is available in different versions with or without electronic sound management through exhaust flap control. In addition, the Pista Pilot has the choice between versions in stainless steel or particularly light INCONEL, as it is also used in the formula 1 for exhaust systems. In order to positively influence the temperature balance in the engine compartment, all NOVITEC exhaust systems are completely thermally insulated. Also on the program are 100 cell sport catalysts, which further optimize the power output. In its most extreme configuration, the supercharged eight-cylinder with NOVITEC engine tuning 60 kW / 82 PS performs more than the standard engine and also increases its maximum torque by 128 Nm to 898 Nm at only 3 100 rpm. The performance benefits of 590 kW / 802 horsepower on 7.950 tours, of course, benefit from the performance: in just 2,7 seconds, the two-seat sports car catapults to Tempo 100. The top speed is 345 km / h.
802 PS thanks to NOVITEC performance increase
The fascination of the NOVITEC performance increases for the Ferrari 488 Pista, however, is not only the optimized performance: just as fascinating is the even more agile response and the even more powerful pulling characteristics on the road. When developing the NOVITEC carbon look components for the body of the two-seater, the designer of the tuner not only emphasized spectacular optics, but above all the aerodynamic efficiency achieved by tests in the wind tunnel. Thus, the front apron is extended forward with the NOVITEC spoiler sword, which further reduces the buoyancy at high speeds. A tailor-made hood for the bonnet completes the NOVITEC facelift for the face of the car. To make the two-door even sportier in the side view and to channel the air flow on the sides even more precisely, there is the NOVITEC side skirts.
NOVITEC design package with carbon trims
Discreet NOVITEC carbon trims for the side mirrors and the triangles also made of carbon fiber on the windows of the two doors set further sporting accents. For a sophisticated aerodynamic balance, the rear end is provided with a spoiler lip. The NOVITEC design package is completed with carbon trims for the two taillights. Other typical NOVITEC features, which are sophisticated down to the last detail, include the black side indicators and reflectors as well as the black additional brake light with LED technology. Of course, the exciting NOVITEC look is also decisively influenced by the tailor-made high-tech forged wheels. As a partner for development and production, the renowned US manufacturer Vossen was won. As the largest variant, the NOVITEC NF10 forged wheels are offered in a thoroughbred racing look with central locking optics. To accentuate the wedge shape of the mid-engined sports car even more, the wheels with five double spokes are mounted on the 488 Pista in the combination 9Jx21 at the front and 12Jx22 at the rear axle. The best tires were Pirelli P Zero 255 / 30 ZR 21 high performance tires and 335 / 25 ZR 22 tires.
Cockpit with leather and Alcantara in every color
Optionally, the wide range of NOVITEC wheel programs for the lightweight solid also offers other exclusive rims in various combinations with 20, 21 or 22 inch diameters. Another NOVITEC high-tech development is the hydraulic suspension system for the Ferrari 488 Pista. This not only achieves a lowering of about 35 millimeters: with the hydraulic frontlift, the sports car can be raised by 40 millimeters in the cockpit at the front axle with the push of a button. This makes it easier to cope, for example, with a ramp in a parking garage or a Speed Bumper in city traffic. Pressing the switch again or automatically when reaching a speed of 80 km / h lowers the front end to the starting position. Of course, however, the standard damper adjustment of the vehicle remains in full measure. NOVITEC also offers pure individuality for the interior.
