2019 Widebody BMW M8 (G15) with 900 PS by tuningblog

For some weeks we have been sure that it continues above the M850i xDrive. Because BMW showed, apparently unintentionally, already at the end of last year Frozen Marina Bay Blue painted M8 with lots of carbon, and the M8 Gran Coupé will also be available at the start by 2020 at the latest. And it is also certain that the top model of the 8 series will not receive the heavy 6,6-liter V12 from the M760Li. Instead there is the well-known 4,4-liter V8 and the new all-wheel drive from the F90 M5. In terms of performance, the M8 should go up a little again. We reckon with approx. 630 HP in the "normal" M8 and between 650-670 HP in the, also already confirmed, Competition variant. And how such an M8 G15 Coupe with a fat widebody kit, significant lowering and fat alloy wheels could look like, we tried to visualize with our rendering.

We were based on a black M850i ​​xDrive with the standard M-Sport package. We gave the front apron a large splinter with side flaps and a set of black kidneys. The main headlights, with their evil LED daytime running lights, are clearly darkened and make for a gloomy appearance. A visual highlight from the front is the modified bonnet with a power dome in the shape of a gill. The attachment comes with five large slats and is intended to allow the significantly modified V8 biturbo to have more fresh air. It continues with large attachments for the front and rear fenders and this time we did without special sill swords. The fender flares come without exposed screw connections and, in our opinion, harmonize much better with the body of the 8 Series. Especially at the rear, this leads to a good 15 cm more vehicle width and thus to an extremely fat arm.

Sport exhaust system and aggressive diffuser

And fat is also the new rear diffuser with the four distinctive Finns. It comes with a typical M sports exhaust system with round tailpipes and, in combination with a filigree spoiler lip on the tailgate, ensures a tremendous performance. And like the headlights, the taillights have been darkened. Generally we tried to make the M8 appear as bleak as possible. Therefore, there were still tinted windows all around, there are no reflectors in the rear apron and even the huge wheelset, except for the edge of the rim, completely dark. And of course the wheelset had to be something very special. We decided for the RM12 forged wheel from the shelf of Race forged wheels.

But of course she is not really original either. We missed her, especially on the rear axle, a much larger low bed and a visible screw connection. The format is befitting 14 x 21 inches in the back and there are 11,5 x 21 inches in front. To match this, of course, an extreme lowering by means of Airride air suspension that drops right at the beginning of the M8 video the club to the ground. As for the changes outside, it had been that too. But we already have in our heads under the rugged bonnet with a strong hand. It is well known that tuners like G-Power, Mcchip-DKR or  MANHART to push the S63B44Tx-V8 up to 800 PS, with a serial output of a maximum of 625 PS in the M5 Competition. G-Power, for example, installs modified turbochargers, a titanium exhaust system including downpipes, sports catalysts and of course an in-house chip tuning. But what if the production vehicle already produces 30 to 50 hp more? Then 850 PS and approx. 1.000 NM torque are easily possible.

900 PS & 1.100 NM? not impossible…

And that is exactly what should have happened under the hood of our M8 widebody. However, we are once again adding improved turbochargers, a sports exhaust system without catalytic converters and a carbon air intake from Eventuri. The result should probably be at least 900 PS and an electronically limited torque of about 1.100 NM. In any case, enough power to accelerate to 2,6 km / h in an estimated 100 seconds and to be able to claim the left lane of the freeway with a top speed of over 340 km / h. For us the perfect transformation from the M850i xDrive to the REAL M8! We are curious if our virtual template will eventually be taken up and implemented by a tuner. How could the G15 (M8) appear from Alpina? There is a high probability that there will be an Alpina B8, but it is just as likely that he will not look like this one. The Widebody look does not really fit with Alpina and so, apart from the paint in ALPINA blue metallic and possibly the classic Alpina multi-spoke wheelset, almost nothing of our rendering will ever come from Buchloe. Sit's a shame ...
