That was fine nothing! Mercedes first pickup is not even after 2 years again before the end. While other manufacturers such as Mitsubishi, Ford, Toyota, Nissan or VW already have almost the license to print money that looks for Mercedes-Benz apparently completely different. Allegedly, from the end of November 2017 until the end of 2018 hardly more than 17.000 vehicles were sold. A bestseller like the Toyota Hilux, however, comes in the year about 500.000 x as a new car on the road. Understandably, therefore, that the Nissan Navara Abklatsch advised the red pencil. But if you look at this copy of the South African tuner RACE! SOUTH AFRICA on so the end of the X-Class is quite sad. The company from Johannesburg shows with this Widebody variant, that the X-class of the type W470 certainly has its right to exist. Unfortunately, however, they have withheld information about the changes extremely.

But we assume that here Pickup design Bodykit was installed because of the known variants of Prior Design or delta4x4 look in detail but different. The Bodykit shines completely in the noble Sichtcarbon and shows up with a bonnet attachment, fender widening front and rear, an insert for the front bumper and 2 carbon components for the bumper at the rear. There were also mirror caps in the noble Sichtcarbon and even the cross braces of the radiator grille are covered with carbon. But that's not all. RACE! SOUTH AFRICA also fitted a massive crash bar with chrome underride protection at the front and chromed running boards for easier entry into the cab. And unmistakably, the wheelset is anything but series. The decision was made for black beadlock alloy wheels equipped with coarse-grained BF Goodrich All Terrain T / A Offroad tires. Compared to the factory tires, this variant is significantly more powerful and able to optimally fill out the widened wheel arches.

And even the relatively new 3,0-liter V6 engine with 258 PS and 550 Newtonmeters torque has been upgraded. Using the so-called Brabus PowerXtra D6 performance kit (processor-controlled additional control unit for the engine electronics) the power increases by 31 kW / 42 horsepower to 221 kW / 300 horsepower and the torque goes up by 70 Newtonmeter to stately 620 Nm. This reduces the acceleration to 100 km / h to 7,5 seconds (series 7,9 s) and also the maximum speed increases from 205 to 210 km / h. Rounding off the visual changes with a closed bed cover (Storage compartment cover), a solid chrome-plated roll bar, all-round darkened windows and “powered by Brabus” badges on the fenders. If we get some more detailed information about the changes in a timely manner, there will of course be an update for this report.
