For a long time today we have a really chic again Restomod project found this time from the tuner Ares design was lovingly crafted on its feet. The base is a Chevrolet Corvette C2 which in the summer 1962 as the second generation of the Corvette under the name Sting Ray (written with spaces) was offered for sale. It was also the first Corvette that you could buy as a coupe and already at that time there was an 7l V8 with 450 PS and powerful 544 Newtonmeter torque. And just such a classic copy has now been completely restored by Team Ares Design and equipped with modern LS3-V8 from the Corvette C6.
The 6,2-liter V8 engine misses the C2 whopping 518 PS which are sent by means of five-speed manual transmission and Viper Hammerhead differential to the rear wheels. So that this mighty engine somehow finds its place in the C2 extensive modifications were necessary. For example, there would be a separate fuel tank, modified wheel arches and a domed 427-style hood. Only then was it possible to accommodate the monster under the long bonnet. But not only the engine is the highlight but the complete vehicle!
The body has been completely restored and painted in glossy black and the same applies to the interior, which has been carefully crafted down to the last detail and completely lined with red leather. And as befits a well-done Restomod project, a lot of the latest technology is of course also used in the interior. A brand new sound system with a 500-watt Alpine amplifier, various USB ports and even a Bluetooth connection are discreetly installed. The nostalgic speedometer scale is equipped with modern LED lighting and both the windows and the "doors" are now electrically controlled.
Finally, there was a beautiful chromed Vielspeichenradsatz in 19 inch front and 20 inch rear and modern LED headlights and taillights. Ares Design does not just want to leave it with a single piece and so offers the tuner conversions for the price of about 400.000 € for the C2 and other vehicles. If we get even more concrete details about the modifications or the process of the restoration, there is of course an update for this story. About the update you will be informed if yours Feed subscribe to. Have fun watching the pictures and stay true to us!
