With this beautiful 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup as Restomod Conversion is probably the king of one of the popular US tuning meetings such as the US CARS-BIKES & KUSTOM in Lörrach (March 21 & 22, 2020) or the Bremen Classic MotorShow (31.01.2020 – 02.02.2020). A completely restored and completely rebuilt 3100 pickup that carries a befitting V8 under the hood and with a beautiful metallic paint in orange, in the condition of a new car Show & Shine contests even rock in Amiland. The Chevrolet 3100 pickups were introduced as part of the Advance Design series by the American car manufacturer in the late 1940s, and were very popular together with the larger 3600 and 3800. However, the 3100 was the smallest in the Advance Design series. But it is largely thanks to him that this species of pickups made the success story of the current models possible at all.
New car flair inside and out
And the 3100 has been one of the most sought-after in the tuning industry ever since. As already mentioned, the current vehicle is a model from 1955, which, in addition to the striking paintwork, also stands out in particular with the differently sized rims on the front and rear axles. Typical American tuning culture, the aluminum is completely chrome-plated, which, however, considering the many other chrome details (Apron front and rear, grille, lamp surround, etc.) is quite appropriate as we think. The body was freed from all unnecessary trim such as the large emblem on the hood, the trim on the fenders and even the door handles. The rear view is typical 3100 series and, apart from the small round taillights, the mentioned chrome rear apron with step and a tailgate with Chevrolet lettering, it also has no unnecessary frills. And of course there was also a significant lowering by means of Airride air suspension and, as already mentioned, a thick V8 under the powerful hood with power dome.

However, not many technical details are really known. The V8 was equipped with Edelbrock carburettors, received a handmade sports exhaust system and is linked to a special automatic system. So far, however, no more information is available. And there are hardly any concrete details about the cabin either. But it too has been completely redesigned and now shines with a two-tone leather interior, a specially designed console with window regulators, center armrest and cup holder, and a beautiful 4-spoke steering wheel with lots of chrome has been installed. There are also many small details such as a new fitting, a dashboard painted in the vehicle color and a high-quality aluminum pedal system.
