This tastefully tuned 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle can currently be bought at a Barrett-Jackson auction. However, buying a tuned second-hand car is not easy. On the one hand you don't know the history and on the other hand only in the rarest cases do the modifications correspond to your own ideas. But this Chevelle Coupé from 1966 has a 99 percent chance of meeting the taste of almost everyone. And it will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson later this month. The Chevelle has received tasteful and restrained modifications that almost look like they were built in from the factory. There was no noticeable color, as with most muscle cars, but a two-tone paintwork in DuPont Ivory and Cashmere with accents in orange and burgundy.

6,2 liter LS9 V8 from the Corvette ZR1

The rest of the body is standard, but new chrome-plated aprons and rims from Billet Specialties add a modern feel to the old-school coupe. And as always, the highlight is of course under the hood. A charged 6,2-liter LS9 V8 from a C6 Corvette ZR1 works here. He has built in stainless steel manifolds from American Racing, a 3,5 inch (approx. 9 cm) sports exhaust system and an aluminum cooler from the accessories. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a Tremec six-speed manual transmission with McLeod clutch and a 9-inch rear from Ford with 3,50 gears.

The engine is held by a kind of Morrison carrier with Corvette C6 components and there was also a QA1 coilover kit, a Wilwood brake system with ventilated discs and modern power steering is included. And even the cabin has changed significantly. Here the Chevelle shows itself with bucket seats in a vintage look, new carpeting, various panels in a carbon look, chic AutoMeter displays, a Hurst gear lever, a vintage air conditioning system and electric windows. Other modern components are an electric trunk opening, new halogen headlights and even LED taillights are installed.
