Collector's item: 1978 BMW 520 (E12) with Airride chassis!

Historical models of the BMW brand currently know only one direction with regard to the purchase price: straight up! The older sedans and coupés from BMW in particular are gaining favor with buyers of classic automobiles, which means that they have gradually been able to shed their once dubious image. If anyone still has any doubts and thinks that a modified classic BMW is a car for speedsters trying to compensate for their lack of self-confidence, this dream specimen from England will definitely teach them otherwise. We would now like to introduce you to the 520 from 1978 in a little more detail.

gold or green?

99 percent of all readers would probably be convinced at first glance that the five with a golden Painting is provided. And we also thought it was a gold lacquer dress, although that's the shade's official name Amazonite Green Metallic. Furthermore, the Bavarian classic with 17 inchers by BBS with the model name E50, which with their golden finish and silver tread perfectly match the vehicle. The enormous low-bed look gives the slammed five, which is equipped with an air-liftAirride chassis was provided, a sporty and at the same time elegant touch. Other modifications to the exterior are one Alpina front and bumpers in the style of the first E12 series that was built before the facelift.

Contemporary interior with style and comfort!

Fern green is the one Color:, which dominates the interior of the E12. the Seats are original and just a new one Nardi sports steering wheel (Type Nardi Abarth) and a wooden one shift knob were retrofitted. In addition, the original Bavaria AM radio with a Bluetooth function upgraded. An R6 naturally aspirated petrol engine also provides propulsion! Under the hood, the R6 petrol engine works without supercharging, which is tired from the 2-liter displacement 122 PS generated. The carburettor engine is on a manual Four-speed transmission coupled and only the rear wheels are driven. The classic is therefore well suited for leisurely cruising, but less so for clearing the left lane on the freeway.

Our conclusion:

A fantastic classic that deserves to be on the road for as long as possible. The tuner knows his trade and, from our point of view, has conjured up a tuning masterpiece that combines (noble) restraint with elegance and sportiness.
