Classic tuning on Ebay: 1986 Hartge H28 BMW 3 Series Coupe

In the 28s, the Hartge H80 was the ultimate competitor for the then BMW M3 based on the E30 model generation. An amazing vehicle that makes it all the more incomprehensible that Hartge GmbH & Co. KG is no longer active. And one of the H28 Coupes is now on Ebay (SKU: 114230148030) for just under $ 40.000. Visually, the classic looks more reserved than the M3 at the time, but under the bonnet the opposite is exactly the case. The Hartge H28 is where the 2,8-liter M30 in-line six-cylinder is typically installed in vehicles marked with "-35i" such as the 535i, 735i or 635CSi. In total, only 20 Hartge H28 coupes were made, which makes the H28 even rarer than the BMW 3 Series 333i or the M3 Sport Evolution II.

210 PS and 270 Nm torque

The H28 delivers 210 hp and 270 Nm torque and there was also a mechanical limited slip differential on the rear axle. Other important changes include special additional displays in the interior, there was a sports exhaust including manifold, a strut brace, a new crankshaft, modified stabilizers and sporty 11-spoke rims from OZ. And every H28 also had the traditional emblems and side graphics on the paint. The current vehicle even has a rare headlamp washer system with Euro specification, the typical Hartge front spoiler and the interior has a padded four-spoke Momo spur steering wheel and the extremely rarely installed air conditioning system.

The DTM-style single arm wiper, on the other hand, seems to be retrofitted, because this was not available from Hartge as far as we know at the time. The alpine white painted H28 with the chassis number WBAAA215-795-373109 is still 21 days (as of May 29.05, 2020) listed on Ebay and alternative offers can also be submitted. If we receive timely information about further changes to the H28 compared to the normal 3, there is of course an update for this report.
