For sale: 1987 Alpina B7 Turbo/3

Today we have found a real exotic for you, which is currently for sale. And it is a rare one Alpine B7 Turbo/3 from 1987. In the 80s, Alpina presented three variants of the B7 Turbo, which was based on the E28 BMW 5 Series. And one of those models was the Alpina B7 Turbo/3, a total of only 30 minutes was built. And in general there were only 28 vehicles from the E7 Alpina B278 Turbo. And vehicle number 1 of the Turbo/3 specification is currently supported by the Enthusiast Auto Group (WEEE) offered for sale. EAG is based in Cincinnati (Ohio/America) and they are known for the fact that their vehicles are sometimes in better condition than when they left the factory. And the Alpina B7 Turbo/3 from 1987 seems to do the same. According to the pictures, the vehicle is suitable for a museum. It shows in the color Black Blue Metallic and in the cabin is one black leather interior to see.

  • blue/green stripes, Alpina sports seats, Motronic injection system, modified cylinder head, lightweight pistons, 264-degree camshaft, high-performance manifold with 3-inch pipes, Getrag sports transmission, Alpina HD clutch, Alpina engine oil cooler, limited-slip differential, range Extender fuel tank, air conditioning, larger brakes, 17" Alpina rims, Alpina steering wheel, wooden shift knob, Alpina digital display for boost pressure/temperatures, front and rear spoilers with Alpina deco kit, etc.

The already mentioned 30 built B7 Turbo/3 were 26 times as Automatic and only four times than Manual Gearbox delivered with a five-speed manual transmission. According to information, the EAG vehicle comes from the Japanese market and was imported to North America. It has only run 59.345 miles and is being driven by a 3,5-litre turbocharged straight-six and mighty 320 PS (316 hp) and 520 Nm torque driven. This gave you more power than the E28 M5 at the time and you could only fly in 6,2 seconds at highway speed. Officially, it was the world's fastest sedan at the time. Even today you can still annoy one or the other compact sports car with this. Unfortunately, the vehicle is said to cost a staggering $199.990, which is significantly more than a current Alpina B7.
