You have just 700.000 to 900.000 dollars over? Then you can invest the money in this 1998 RUF CTR2 Sport based on a Porsche 911 generation 993 which is currently being auctioned on RM Sotheby's. The CTR made RUF famous in the late 1980er years and this CTR2 is based on a Carrera 3.2 whose boxer engine was drilled on 3,4 liter. There was a modified Bosch ignition in motorsport quality and two improved turbocharger. Next, there was a special 6-speed manual transmission and thus flew the "Yellowbird" (Road & Track gave the XNUMX its surname) incredible 350 km / h. Originally, the CTR2 520 PS and later even made huge 580 PS. For that time an insane yield and still impressive today. RUF fitted either a comfort or sports suspension in the CTR and of course the characteristic five-spoke alloy wheels with high-performance tires were also included.

There were also special front and rear bumpers and new fenders with integrated heat extractors to cool the big brake system. At the rear RUF built a two-stage rear wing and everywhere air intakes and a special air box. And in the interior, the integrated roll cage immediately catches the eye. In addition there was Ultrasoft leather for the seats, the dashboard, the door panels and the center console. The driver looks at easily legible displays with green lettering and the speedometer is significantly expanded. Alois Ruf Jr. had two 1997 cars at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado compete in the impressive 2. and 4. Took place and could only be beaten by an ultralight prototype.

580 PS, 780 Nm and 1.380 Kg curb weight

RUF built less than 30 CTR2 of which just over half sport models with wider fenders were the place for the larger brake and rims offered. This vehicle is a model of 1998 as CTR2 Sport, which is offered for the first time at auction. It is a specimen with a Porsche Motorsport derived all-wheel drive with stepless transmission of power and torque between the axles. Allegedly, only 4 vehicles were equipped with this system and the Bilstein PSS10 coilover suspension is not common. Inside, there was green leather and black details and even a Porsche navigation system with a separate USB input is installed.
