And the Abarth tuning range for the Fiat 500 goes on, which couldn't be more extensive. Regardless of whether 595, 595 Track / Trofeo / Competition / Yamaha Factory Racing Edition or whatever they are called, the tuner from Turin always seems to have new ideas for refining the small 500. And now comes the Abarth 695 rival - and even as a convertible. Enough? Far from it, regardless of whether it is a sheet metal roof or with a fabric top, the “Rivale” inspires both variants. In Turin they even came up with a skilful play on words: Fiat gave the 500 special model the name of the famous Riva boatyard, of course everything with license & Co., Abarth thought that their version of the Riva would make a lot more riot and thus Rival is probably a fitting term. Well, anyway ...

Since the yacht builder is currently celebrating his 175th birthday, a quantity of 175 per body series variant is of course optimal and so soon 350 people can look forward to 180PS, two-tone paintwork or chic 17 inchers. The upper part of the body is dark blue and the lower part is gray. The whole thing is separated by a subtle, double-drawn line in light blue, as you could already see on many yachts. And the interior has also been redesigned. The highlights are the blue leather sports seats, a dashboard that, depending on your choice, adorns a cover in carbon look or elegant mahogany, or a steering wheel with inserts that match the blue leather. The high-tech infotainment system including 7-inch display is also standard, and Android Auto and Apple Car Play can be used playfully.

Although Abarth has not yet announced any prices for the Abarth 695 rival, under 32.000 euros will probably turn nothing. If you take the 695 Biposto linked above as a reference, the rival is a good €7.000 cheaper and can almost be described as a “bargain”. If we get more information about the modifications or the pricing, there is of course, as always, an update for this report. It is best if you subscribe to our feed and if there is anything new you will be informed immediately. We hope you enjoy looking at the pictures. (Photos: Abarth)
