Coinciding with the B5 facelift Alpina has that too D5 lifted. And the M550d replacement also receives the M sports package like the B5 petrol engine. And the D5 S also got even more performance with the facelift. With an impressive 408 hp, it even trumps the performance of the quad-turbo diesel from Munich. The 3,0 liter B57 inline six-cylinder with an Alpina-specific configuration including three turbochargers delivers a tremendous torque of 1.750 Newton meters from just 800 rpm and ensures spectacular driving performance in this segment. The top diesel as a D5 S sedan only takes 100 seconds for the standard sprint to 4,4 km / h and reaches the 17 mark after just 200 seconds.

Hardly slower is the D5 S Touring, which takes 4,6 seconds for the discipline at 100 km / h. And like the petrol engine, the diesel can also gallop without restrictions and reaches 31 km / h as the G5 LCI D283 S Touring and even 30 km / h as the G5 LCI D286 S Sedan. And as already announced, the D5 S facelift also gets a new look in the form of the M Sport package of the 5 series plus the typical Alpina front lip and, if desired, the familiar decor. In addition, the changes made by BMW for headlights, kidneys and rear lights, so that the result is a significantly more dynamic appearance. Although the driving performance of the Diesel Alpinas is overshadowed by the more than 200 hp petrol engine, if you look around in the self-igniting segment in the form of the Mercedes E-Class, Audi A6 or the A7, you will find that no other 350 hp accomplishes.
255 & 285 mm Pirelli P Zero tires
The D5, like the B5, transfers its power to the road by means of 20-inch forged wheels in the unmistakable Alpina Classic design, which are fitted with 255 & 285 mm Pirelli P Zero tires with an Alpina-specific compound. And of course the Brembo brake system is also adapted to the performance. This is where the system from the B5 with 395 millimeter brake discs and four-piston fixed calipers on the front axle and 398 millimeter discs and floating calipers on the rear axle is used. A look into the interior reveals a handcrafted steering wheel with the Alpina logo, digital Alpina instruments and, in terms of material selection and color combination, the company from Buchloe enables everything the customer wants.
