Large pickups like the Ford F-250 have been an integral part of the tuning scene for decades. Countless tuners vie for customer favor and have a wide range of accessories for almost all vehicles. Hennessey Performance or the Roush team are particularly well known here, while smaller companies such as the Ford dealer are less well known Long McArthur, which also offers a tuning range for the F-250. The car dealer based in Salina (Kansas / USA) has built many special editions in the past, such as the Ford F-150 Cattleman Edition or the F-150 Sidewinder, and now has an F-250 at the start. And that with the so-called Highboy package, which should remind of the successful Ford trucks of the 60s and 70s.

The package seems to be available for every F-250 and is therefore not tied to the design, the engine or a special equipment variant. The vehicle converted by the dealer is an XL all-wheel drive with the optional STX package (Chrome grill, chrome bumpers, STX badges for the fenders, 18 inch alloy wheels etc.). The F-250 received a two-tone (red / white) foil from the dealership, a "Super Duty" lettering on the hood and a set of new 18 inch Pro Comp steel rims with 35 inch (0,89 m) BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 -Tire including white lettering. Long McArthur has installed a Rough Country lift that raises the body by 2 inches (approx. 5 cm) at the front and underlines the mighty impression even further. The side windows and the rear window are darkened and a 4 × 4 Highboy sticker is attached to the end of the loading area. There were also enlarged exterior mirrors with black mirror caps, black running boards and a robust tailgate step so that the loading area could be easily reached.

Additional orange marker lights were installed on the roof and a solid K3 roll bar with four KC daylighter auxiliary lights including a yellow smiley cover on the loading area. In contrast to the changes outside, the new features in the cabin are minor. There is only one exclusive Long McArthur badge and, on request, smaller details such as new floor mats. By the way, under the hood of this copy there is a 7,3 liter Godzilla V8 petrol engine with 430 hp and 645 NM torque, which distributes the power to the wheels via a modern 10-speed automatic transmission. If we receive timely information on further changes to the F-250 Pickup Highboy, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to. Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
