Porsche is expanding its mid-engine sports cars with two distinctly sporty and exclusively equipped models. They are called 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 and 718 Boxster GTS 4.0. The new two-seaters draw their power from the four-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine with 294 kW (400 hp; 718 Boxster GTS 4.0: fuel consumption combined 10,8 l / 100 km; CO2 emissions combined 246 g / km; 718 Cayman GTS 4.0: fuel consumption combined 10,8 l / 100 km; CO2 emissions combined 246 g / km), which is also used in the 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4. In combination with the manual six-speed gearbox and the sports exhaust system, this results in exceptional power delivery and a particularly emotional driving experience. The standard sprint to 100 km / h is achieved in 4,5 seconds. The top speed is up to 293 km / h.
Porsche Active Suspension Management
Thanks to the standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports suspension, including a 20 millimeter lowering, and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear axle lock, the new GTS generation achieves a remarkable balancing act between sporty firmness and everyday comfort. The standard Sport Chrono Package with the enhanced Porsche Track Precision app also underlines the dynamic characteristics of the mid-engine sports car. Black contrasting design elements and the dark Alcantara® equipment set accents typical of GTS. As in the 718 Spyder and the 718 Cayman GT4, the powerful four-liter unit is characterized by exceptional efficiency. In addition to the adaptive cylinder control, which alternately switches off one of the two cylinder banks when the load is low, direct petrol injection with piezo injectors and a variable intake system also contribute to this. In addition, the GTS engine impresses with its sovereign power reserves and immediate responsiveness. Thanks to a revving speed of up to 7.800 rpm and the standard sports exhaust system with dynamic flap control, this also includes the acoustic advantages of the robust sounding six-cylinder boxer.
718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4
The 718 GTS 4.0 models of the 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4 take over the sports exhaust system with integrated Otto particle filter and separated tailpipes. With its saddle-shaped design, it creates space for the black rear lower section, which was specially developed for the GTS models. With particularly precise handling, agile turning and willing cornering behavior, the chassis also promises an emotional driving experience. It combines sporty firmness with suspension comfort suitable for everyday use. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is part of the standard equipment. This is accompanied by a lowering of 20 millimeters. The PASM sports suspension is available as an option, which lowers the body by ten millimeters. Also on board ex works are other performance components such as Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with separately switchable PSM Sport mode, the Sport Chrono Package including the further developed Porsche Track Precision App, the adaptive assembly mounting Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts (PADM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear axle differential lock.
20-inch alloy wheels
The mid-engine sports cars roll on 20-inch light-alloy wheels in silky black. High-performance tires in the dimensions 235/35 ZR 20 at the front and 265/35 ZR 20 at the rear provide a view of the perforated discs and the red calipers of the reinforced brake system. The ceramic brake Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) can be ordered as an option. Dark contrasting details indicate the particularly sporty status of the GTS vehicles: This applies to the spoiler lip, the black air intake of the Sport Design front panel, the glasses of the fog lights in the front part, the glasses of the rear lights and the redesigned rear part. In the interior, dark Alcantara® creates a sporty, elegant ambience. It adorns the center panels of the standard sports seats Plus as well as the steering wheel rim, the center console, the gear lever and the armrests of the two doors. In the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, it also clad the A-pillars and the headlining.

The optional GTS interior package brings another color into play: carmine red or chalk are available. This can accentuate the dial of the rev counter, the seat belts, all decorative seams including the embroidered GTS emblem in the headrests and the Porsche lettering on the black bordered floor mats. The decorative elements and the cover of the center console are made of carbon. When shipped from the factory, the 718 GTS 4.0 models have Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with a high-resolution 7-inch touch display and the Sport Chrono Package including the further developed Track Precision app. The smartphone program, which originates from motorsport, can use the PCM display to display, visualize and record performance-relevant data in circuit use and record it for later analysis. The online navigation module with real-time traffic information, voice control and Porsche Connect are optionally available, as is a BOSE® sound system and the Burmester high-end surround sound system.
