The McLaren 620R is now available to order with an exclusive 'R Pack' from the Special Operations Department of McLaren Special Operations (MSO). This optional package, available to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, includes several design and engineering upgrades that further enhance the immersive driving experience of the most powerful, track-oriented Sports Series model of all time. The R Pack includes a roof scoop made of glossy lacquered carbon fiber, a supersport exhaust made of titanium with a black nano-gloss coating, glossy lacquered fender slats made of carbon fiber and a carbon fiber interior trim package.

The eye-catching roof scoop in glossy design, Visual Carbon Fiber Roof Scoop, was inspired by the legendary McLaren F1 Longtail and works as a fully functional air intake system that intensifies the driving experience with its active air intake noise. The Roof Scoop can also be equipped with a camera that works in conjunction with the McLaren Track Telemetry (MTT) system to record the breathtaking track sessions of its passionate owners. The MSO Defined Titanium SuperSports exhaust is up to 5 decibels louder than other Sports Series exhaust options and delivers a sharper, more characterful exhaust tone, adding to the driving experience.

Carbon Fiber Interior Pack

The MSO Defined Gloss Finish Visual Carbon Fiber Fender Louvres on the front fenders provide a striking visual enhancement to the front of the 620R, while a Carbon Fiber Interior Pack complements the functional and racetrack-inspired interior of the vehicle. Another upgrade of the MSO R-Pack is the price of € 30.000 (incl. VAT) in Germany, which is well below the cost of options for individual purchases. The McLaren 620R is the first vehicle in its class to offer true motorsport credentials in a fully street legal package. The limited edition coupe evolves the competitive specification of the McLaren 570S GT4 to offer a pure motorsport experience in a road vehicle and enable a seamless transition from racing to road, free from any restrictions imposed by racing regulations.

M838TE 3,8 liter twin turbo V8

The power is provided by an M838TE 3,8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 3,8 liters displacement, which is used in the McLaren 570S GT4. This has been reconfigured to achieve 620 hp and develop a torque of 620 Nm, making the 620R the most powerful derivative with an acceleration of 0-100km / h in 2,9 seconds and 0-200km / h in 8,1 seconds the Sports Series of all time makes. The aerodynamics, hardware and chassis components are also used in the 570S GT4 to achieve the performance of the racing car and the fastest lap times of all models in the Sports Series. The aerodynamic body of the McLaren 620R develops a total of 250 kg of downforce at 185 km / h. The Coupé has carbon-ceramic brakes, central locking wheels and manually adjustable GT4 dampers with 32 setting options. Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires are standard, a Pirelli Slick tire only for the racetrack is also available. Only 620 copies of the McLaren 225R are produced worldwide.

About Thomas Wachsmuth

Thomas Wachsmuth - He has been an integral part of tuningblog.eu since 2013. His passion for cars is so intense that he invests every available penny in them. While he dreams of a BMW E31 850CSI and a Hennessey 6x6 Ford F-150, he currently drives a rather inconspicuous BMW 540i (G31/LCI). His collection of books, magazines and brochures on the subject of car tuning has now reached such proportions that he himself has become a walking reference work for the tuning scene.  More about Thomas
