Porsche lets the new 911 GT3 (992) off the leash. The seventh edition of the high-performance sports car was also developed in close cooperation with Porsche Motorsport. It transfers pure racing technology into a production model even more consistently than ever before: the double wishbone front axle layout and the sophisticated aerodynamics with gooseneck rear wing and distinctive diffuser come from the successful GT racing car 911 RSR, the 375 kW (510 hp) four-liter six-cylinder -Boxer engine is based on the drive of the 911 GT3 R, which has been tried and tested in endurance races. The acoustically impressive high-speed engine is also used in the new 911 GT3 Cup, practically unchanged. The result is a brilliant driving machine: efficient and emotional, precise and high-performance, perfect for the circuit and problem-free in everyday life.

510 PS in the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3

The characteristic strength of the 911 GT3 lies in the sum of its properties. With a top speed of 320 km / h (318 km / h with PDK) it is even faster than the previous 911 GT3 RS. The new 911 GT3 accelerates from zero to 100 km / h in 3,4 seconds. Porsche is also offering the new model with a six-speed manual transmission for a particularly puristic driving experience. The sophisticated aerodynamics benefit from the experience gained in racing and generate significantly more downforce without significantly affecting the drag coefficient. In the performance position, the manually adjustable wing and diffuser elements significantly increase the aerodynamic contact pressure for higher cornering speeds. However, this is reserved for circular trips.

in 6: 59,927 minutes over the Nordschleife (the full video)

This is where the 911 GT3 can play to its full potential. The Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, traditionally the benchmark for all sports cars at Porsche, was more than 17 seconds faster than his predecessor during the final coordination work. Development driver Lars Kern only needed 20,8: 6 minutes for one lap over the entire 59,927 kilometers. The shorter version with a length of 20,6 kilometers, which was previously used as a benchmark, was completed by the 911 GT3 in 6: 55,2 minutes. The new model delivered its performance on the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires in the expert hands of Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister consistently over several laps. For Bergmeister it is “by far the best production car” that the experienced professional driver has ever driven in the “Green Hell”.

Despite the wider body, larger wheels and additional technical features, the weight of the new GT3 is comparable to its predecessor. With manual transmission it weighs 1.418 kilograms, with PDK 1.435 kilograms. The front hood made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), lightweight glass panes, optimized brake discs and forged light alloy wheels ensure weight discipline, as does the rear cover. The lightweight sports exhaust system saves no less than ten kilograms. With continuously electrically adjustable exhaust flaps, it brings a highly emotional sound experience in line with the Euro 6d ISC FCM (EU6 AP) emissions standard. The combined consumption of the 911 GT3 is 13,3 (PDK: 12,4) liters / 100 km.

Tachometer reaching up to 10.000 tours

The proximity to racing is expressed in practically every detail of the new 911 GT3. The cockpit corresponds to the current model generation. The track screen is new: at the push of a button, it reduces the digital displays on the left and right of the central rev counter, which can range up to 10.000 tours, to information such as tire pressure display, oil pressure, oil temperature, level of the fuel tank and water temperature, which are essential for circuit use. This also includes a visual gearshift assistant with colored bars to the left and right of the rev counter and a gearshift light derived from motorsport.

With Porsche GT models in particular, more and more customers want individualized equipment. The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur range is therefore also available for the new 911 GT3, supplemented by GT3-specific options such as a lightweight roof made of exposed carbon. Further highlights are exterior mirror upper shells made of carbon, tinted LED matrix headlights and matching exclusive design rear lights with an arc without red components. Rim edges painted in Guards Red or Shark Blue enhance the black light alloy wheels. In the interior, equipment details such as the dials for the rev counter and sports chrono-stopwatch, seat belts and decorative strips set elegant accents in the color of the vehicle or of your choice.

individual chronograph for Porsche Design customers

The individual chronograph that Porsche Design exclusively offers customers of the high-performance sports car is as exclusive as the 911 GT3 itself. Like its motorized model, it relies on dynamic design, consistent performance and high-quality workmanship. Its housing reflects its proximity to motorsport: like the connecting rods of the GT3 engine, it is made of durable, lightweight titanium. The watch is driven by an individual winding rotor that is based on the 911 GT3 wheels. The dial color ring can be designed in the paint colors of the 911 GT3. Porsche offers the new 911 GT3 from 167.518 euros including VAT and country-specific equipment *. Delivery will start in May 2021.
