The first Dodge Power Wagon came on the market as early as 1945, and this was derived from the so-called WC series, which served as military vehicles in World War II. The first generation of the Power Wagon was also the first all-wheel drive pickup for the masses. That was 75 years ago, and a lot has changed during that time. Even Dodge pickups now run under the brand name Ram, but the DNA of the first power wagon can still be clearly felt in the anniversary model. By the way, this model goes by the name 75th Anniversary Edition, and comes with various optical and technical modifications on the market, which should improve both comfort and off-road suitability.
Anniversary truck with modifications
The Ram Power Wagon is equipped with many things that should make life easier off the beaten track. Both a cable winch with 5,5 tons of pulling force and 17-inch rims with free-wheel hubs, which look almost puny on the monster truck, but significantly improve the off-road suitability compared to the conventional Ram versions, are standard on board. Those responsible from the FCA group, to which Ram belongs, even speak of the most off-road pickup on the market. There is also a special grill, which stands out from its more civilized brothers with a much more striking design. There are 11 different colors available for the special model, which is not limited, including the two new paint finishes called Molten Orange and Anvil Gray. In addition, the Ram Power Wagon has side running boards as standard to make climbing into the cockpit much easier, especially for older people. Last but not least, the anniversary RAM also has special logos on the body.
The interior has also been upgraded.
In the interior, leather seats with specially embroidered anniversary logos are standard, and the very special emblems are not only embroidered on the seats, but also on the armrests. Otherwise, the cockpit and the standard equipment largely correspond to the production version of the large US pickup, but a 750-watt sound system from Haman Kardon is on board as standard.
V8 power like in the good old days.
Regardless of climate change and the advancing electrification of the automobile, the monster is powered by a 6,4 liter V8 naturally aspirated petrol engine that develops 416 hp. All four wheels are permanently driven via an eight-speed automatic. The maximum speed of the off-roader is electronically limited to 110 miles (176 km / h), but the highway is also not the field of the off-road cop, which in the United States is probably used primarily as a workhorse. Unfortunately, we are not yet aware of any acceleration values, but the Ram is guaranteed not to be a shifting dune thanks to its 416 hp.
When is this ram the right car for me?
If I often drive off-road or want to call a very special pickup my own in order to catch the glances of other road users, then I can consider putting such a vehicle in my garage at home. The high consumption and the lousy CO2 balance shouldn't bother me either, and if I'm introverted and shy, the Ram is guaranteed to be the wrong toy for me. Now you can decide for yourself how you feel about the car, but no matter whether you love or hate it, there is of course a picture gallery at the end of the post. If we get more information about the changes, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed of this if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
