20th JDM factory tuning by Honda on the S2000 Roadster

Hard to believe, but after 20 years, Honda is actually dedicating itself to the S2000 Roadster again. At the Tokyo Auto Salon 2020 there was a cool EK9 Civic Type R as a Civic Cyber Night Japan Cruiser, namely an optimized S2000 as a "20th Anniversary" Edition. It's not a "new" S2000 that the Japanese showed there, but a subtle new look on the legendary high-speed roadster. For its 20th birthday, Honda Access, responsible for the carmaker's accessories, is supplying the parts for the S2000 in the form of a limited edition body kit. But an optimized chassis and an improved audio system could also be available on request. But we are not entirely sure. The 2,0 liter vacuum cleaner, on the other hand, is left untouched. The changes directly ex works are only available to interested customers from Japan.

Orders placed until February 19, 2021

And now comes the most important part. Everyone who is interested and meets the requirements (occasionally something goes to North America) must be within the next 363 days from today have placed his order. As of February 19, 2021, Honda will no longer take orders. Incidentally, this applies not only to the body kit with the new apron at the front, the Modulo X ducktail rear spoiler or the small corners for the side skirts, but also to the addressed new sports suspension, which even has five-stage adaptive damping. And for the cabin, too, people came up with something for the 20th anniversary. There is a new cover for the car radio, new floor mats with lettering and white LED footwell lighting is also included.

Facelift or pre-facelift? Important details!

On the other hand, nothing is known about the modern Panasonic touchscreen navigation system or the Advan Racing motorsport rims from the exhibition vehicle. And for the hardcore fans, the parked vehicle can even be covered under a protective cover with a logo. Basically, all parts should be suitable for the revised AP2 S2000 from 2003 to 2009, but the front apron, the sports suspension and the audio cover are not designed for the AP1 (1999-2003). The best thing to do is inform yourself at Honda yourself about the availability in Germany and the fit for your S2000. If we receive timely information on further changes for the S2000, there is of course an update for this report. You will be informed if you simply use ours Feed subscribe to.
