The SEMA 2018 not only has VW Jettas (1,2,3) but there are currently also a Nissan 370Z on Nismo-based marvel. The vehicle comes directly from Nissan Motorsports and is called Project Clubsport 23. The basis here is the somewhat outdated 370Z Nismo from 2012. As is well known, it comes from the factory with a 355 hp 3,7 liter VQ37VHR six-cylinder. But this engine is history and has been replaced by the new three-liter VR30DDTT-V6 with bi-turbo charging. Now over 400 PS are raging in the 370Z and the factory six-speed manual transmission of the sports coupé is used. This has never happened before because the engine normally works in the Infiniti Q50 & Q60 models in combination with a seven-speed automatic transmission.

But with the help of a specially made coupling from the cooperation partner MA Motorsports, this “wedding” was possible. And the engine also got an AMS Performance Cold Air Intake System and Z1 Motorsports blow-off valves. However, Nissan has not yet announced the exact performance data. The Infiniti engine already has 475 NM ex works and this example will probably have at least 550 NM. And of course a sports exhaust system should not be missing on this unique piece. Here Nissan opted for a stainless steel system that is also from MA Motorsports comes and ensures a species-appropriate soundscape. The performance on the road brings among other things the Nismo GT LSD Pro-Carbon two-way differential (coupled to an MA Motorsports Diff cooler) and of course the black Rays alloy wheels in 10,5 × 18 inch with Hankook RS4 tires in the format 285 / 35.

KW Variant 3 coilover suspension

And a sports chassis optimized for use on the racetrack and a significantly improved braking system were not to be missed. The chassis comes from KW and more precisely it is a variant 3 coilover kit that, as far as we know, is equipped with Eibach sport springs on the rear axle (certainly we are not). The load is braked with Nismo HC brake pads the Z1 Motorsports two-piece slotted brake discs in the forceps and there were also Nismo stainless steel brake lines for the optimum pedal feel. And also the body has been changed and so there is a Seibon carbon bonnet, an APR carbon front splitter, a modified rear apron, a central JDM fog light at the rear and carbon mirror caps from the Nismo at the Project Clubsport 23.

All this is staged by the gaudy Burnt Orange finish finish of Speedesign Custom Graphic which, however, did not make it into the interior. But this has also been revised. Nissan installs Sparco QRT-R sports seats with six-point belts and a Sparco R383 sports steering wheel. A welded-in safety cell and a fire extinguishing system ensure the necessary safety in the event of a crash. We do not currently have any more details about the Nismo 370Z. If we receive timely information on further changes not mentioned so far, there will of course be an update for this report.
