The guys around the Divers Street Rods team from Lynwood somewhere near Seattle have released a completely crazy and at the same time visually absolutely successful project that we absolutely have to show you. A VW Bus T2 (Bulli) as built from 1967 to 1979 served as the base vehicle for the tuning. But neither the 1,6 liter engine with its 47 hp, which was installed until 1970, nor the 2,0 liter four-cylinder engine with 70 hp that was available afterwards was enough for the boys.
Impreza EJ257 engine
Something much fatter was needed and so the choice fell on a 2006 Subaru Impreza engine, which with a good 400 hp makes the metallic green painted bus a lot of legs. After the tuning cure that the T2 was allowed to endure, it is now much more exciting, individual and of course ten times more dynamic than the production version and should be largely unique. If you are thinking of buying a VW Bus T2 in the future or already own one and you live in the USA, then Divers Street Rods is definitely an interesting starting point when it comes to differentiating the vehicle from the production model.

As far as the changes made to the optics or the technology are concerned, we have already been able to find out the first details. As usual, what we do know is summarized below. If you spot any other changes that we haven't listed, just use the comment box and let us know! Ps. If you have more tuned VW buses like this one VW T1 with 530 hp or even one 330 hp VW Bully T1 named Wind Split want to see, then just keep checking the VW category!
