So-called 6 × 6 conversions based on the Jeep Wrangler / Gladiator we have already seen. The vehicles from Tyrant Motorworks, Bruiser conversions and of course Wild Boar Off Road the one more mighty Hellcat V8. All vehicles with an additional axle and countless hours of work. But a visually bad specimen like the 6 × 6 Wrangler from South Florida (SoFlo jeeps) is new to us too. Here, too, there was the additional rear axle but also a bitter look in deep black. And that is in the form of 76 liters (!) Paint made of a special epoxy resin and Kevlar fibers made of scratch-resistant paint enables. And that turns the gladiator into a vehicle whose area of ​​application can be found in particular in end-of-the-life scenarios such as Mad Max, Terminator, 28 Days Later or Zombieland.

The basis is the current Jeep Gladiator pickup

The tuner builds the SF6x6 named Über-Pickup based on the Jeep Gladiator and equips the multi-axle vehicle either with a 6,2-liter Corvette V8 engine or with a powerful turbo diesel. For the ultimate apocalypse, we of course recommend the V8! However, extensive work is required to make the pickup a monster of the end times. The frame needs to have a longer wheelbase admitted The additional axle has to be inserted, and an additional Detroit Truetrac differential from Eaton is also included. After all, the SF6x6 off-roader should drive all six wheels. And that works perfectly after the conversion and can even be changed to a 4 × 4 variant at the push of a button. SoFlo modified the mentioned turbodiesel from 264 to 304 PS and the maximum torque of 599 Nm increases to a mighty 949 NM. And that also enables the towing capacity to be increased from 3,75 tons to a mighty 5,4 tons.

As already mentioned, we recommend the roaring V8. Although this has less torque in series production, it has the acoustics that match the look. However, the eight-tender also has an additional $ 30.000 (a good 25.500 euros). For this, a LS3 small block V8 with 6,2 liter displacement from the Corvette tinkers under the hood. He convinces with at least 436 hp and like us various conversions from Livernois Motorsports, Hennessey & Co. show, much more is possible on request. Then the torque fits again! And in addition to the additional axis, the huge look is an absolute feature of the conversion. The Gladiator gets an all-terrain chassis with a lift kit including Falcon shock absorbers and thus grows upwards by 12,7 centimeters. And the setup allows a travel of almost 36 centimeters. And a befitting Patagonia M / T off-road wheel set in 38 to 40 inches (approx. 1 m) from Milestar on beadlock rims also provides a few extra centimeters.

The new setup is stabilized by means of special Falcon steering and there is even a fully-fledged spare wheel on the loading area for emergencies. And the 2,7-ton monster also shows itself with significantly modified body parts. An evil one-piece front mask made of steel adorns the gladiator and a strong winch and powerful tow hooks are installed. There is also a hood made of fiberglass with an air scoop and the red halo LED rings around the main headlights take care of the rest of the gloomy look. The side section is staged with modified fenders and the custom-made roll bar with the mentioned spare wheel on the loading area is particularly powerful. At the rear there is still a redesigned rear apron and changes can also be seen inside.

The off-roader has removable doors and the convertible roof can also be completely removed. Entry is made possible by automatically extending step aids and the seats are covered with hand-sewn, weather-resistant leather in black (whatever else). Various names, logos and patterns, like the colors, are available in all imaginable variations upon customer request. The cabin is perfectly rounded off with additional light strips.
