With the introduction of the new Flying Spur S, Bentley completes its new, driver-focused S range and gives its four-door premium sedan a whole new dimension with increased dynamics, breathtaking visual presence and increased acoustic drama. For the first time, Bentley's historic "S" emblem graces a hybrid product - another step towards Beyond100, Bentley's vision for a more sustainable future. The Bentley Flying Spur has long been acclaimed for its ability to excite drivers without compromising passenger comfort. As with the recently introduced Continental GT S and GT Convertible S models, the new Flying Spur S models focus on driving pleasure, but with the additional option of a 4,0-litre V8 engine or V6 hybrid drive.

Two engines!

Bentley customers can now choose between the comfort-oriented Flying Spur Azure, which emphasizes well-being behind the wheel, and the new Flying Spur S models, which enhance the driving experience visually, haptically and acoustically. There are two powertrain choices for the Flying Spur S, each with complementary engineering approaches to deliver a sporty and rewarding driving experience while maintaining the effortless performance Bentley has always been known for.

The V8 version of the Flying Spur S is powered by Bentley's advanced 4,0-litre engine, producing 404 kW (550 hp) and 770 Nm of torque. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4,0 seconds and the top speed is – where possible and permissible – 318 km/h. The vehicle comes standard with Bentley Dynamic Ride. This system is able to generate a stabilizing torque of up to 0,3 Nm within 1.300 seconds by decoupling the wheels from each other to keep the body stable during dynamic cornering and offer passengers a smoother driving experience. Electronic all-wheel steering is also part of the standard equipment. During low-speed maneuvers, the system turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels by up to 4,2 degrees to reduce the turning circle and increase agility. At higher speeds, the rear wheels steer in the same direction as the front wheels, providing more stability when changing lanes and overtaking.

For those who travel around town and care about the environment, the Flying Spur S is also available with a hybrid drive. It combines a 2,9 liter V6 petrol engine with a modern electric motor and delivers a total of 400 kW (544 hp) and 750 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4,1 seconds, just a tenth of a second slower than the V8. With a range of up to 41 kilometers in purely electric mode and CO2 emissions of just 75 g per kilometer (WLTP), the Flying Spur Hybrid S is the most efficient Bentley ever.

Customers who like to max out the performance of their Bentley also appreciate the acoustic pleasure of a performance-oriented drive. In the Flying Spur S, the V8 engine with a newly designed sports exhaust is responsible for this, while the Flying Spur Hybrid S (in Sport mode) has a sophisticated improvement in the acoustics in the engine compartment, which underlines the sportier character of the automobile for the driver and at the same time keeps the noise level in the rear low.

An imposing exterior with British understatement!

The black trim elements of the Flying Spur S models ensure a sporty yet understated appearance, regardless of the chosen exterior paint finish. The Crewe design team recognizes that the absence of highly polished metal accents encourages the eye to take in the car's shape and perceive it as lower and wider - the essence of a sporty Bentley. This effect is complemented by gloss black lower grille inserts for the bumper, dark-tinted headlights and taillights, four black tailpipes and distinctive S badging on the front fenders. The grille is also finished in gloss black, with vertical slats and a gloss black surround. Only the winged Bentley emblem and the lettering on the trunk lid stand out with their bright chrome finish.

The S range is offered with an optional all-new 22-inch five Y-spoke gloss black wheel. Alternatively, this wheel is also available in the new Pale Brodgar Satin finish. A second option for the S models is a 21-inch three-spoke wheel that combines gloss black and highly polished surfaces - this wheel is also reserved for the S series. Regardless of the wheel, the red brake calipers fitted as standard underscore the extroverted character of the S models.

Optical and haptic highlights in the interior!

Inside the Flying Spur S, customers can let their imaginations run wild and choose from a range of sport-oriented two-tone combinations, handcrafted in the Crewe leather workshop from smooth leather and softly brushed Dinamica. This suede-like material is used for the heated steering wheel, shifter, seat pads and seatbacks, while leather is used on the seat bolsters, door panels, along the instrument panel and around the console.

The S-Design seats are quilted lengthwise, with diamond quilting available as an option. The "S" emblem is embroidered on the headrests of all seats; embroidered Bentley wings are available as an alternative at no extra cost. The dashboard instruments are inspired by chronometers used in motorsport and share the same design as the Continental GT Speed. Finishing touches include a metal S badge on the dash and illuminated Bentley courtesy lamps, where the "S" represents Bentley Motors Ltd. replaced.

Presentation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed!

The new S model range will make its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs from Thursday 23rd June to Sunday 26th June. The Flying Spur S, Continental GT S and Continental GTC S will compete as part of the First Glance class in the famous hill climb and will be on display in the exhibition area throughout the event. They will be joined by a host of other Bentleys, past and present, including iconic racers and a special lineup of Bentley models celebrating 40 years of turbocharging - with the new S-Line cars being the latest additions to this illustrious lineage.
