Surely that's striking Forged carbon (was first brought to the automotive segment by Lamborghini) not to everyone's taste. However, it must be said that it is undoubtedly a welcome change from the "normal carbon“ in the tuning scene. And that not only applies if it is installed on a super sports car, but also a current BMW M135i (F40) can be significantly upgraded with it. Because on the part of the existing M Performance tuning parts (was available for the 1 Series directly with the market launch in 2019) there is now the eye-catching surface for the 1 Series with the M Sport package Outside mirror caps and Diffuser insert in the rear apron. There are others for that parts available in high-gloss black.
the difference to normal carbon
The marble-like surface is in contrast to the classic visible carbon not with an even structure. While the normal carbon comes in an artificial resin with precisely arranged long fibers, which usually extend over the entire component, the forged carbon variant is clear shorter pieces of fiber fraught. They are also soaked in resin and can be pressed into any shape. If we get more information about even more Forged Carbon Parts for the BMW M135i (F40) or other BMW vehicles, there is of course an update for this report.
