In Germany, too, pickups and SUVs are waking up with three axes more and more interest. However, these monsters can be approved in this country much more difficult than overseas. To put it bluntly, another axle is simply pasted on there and off you go on the road. Of such things we can typically thanks "German & European“ Bureaucracy only dream. And a company that is very familiar with the topic of "additional axles" is the team around the Texan tuner Hennessey performance. They have been building various vehicles with six wheels for years and they are almost always extremely powerful. In addition, they always have plenty of power under the hood. And the latest 6×6 truck from Hennessey Performance is the new one VelociRaptor. This is now in the third model generation (I & II) and is based on the current Ford F-150 Raptor, which was presented in February 2021.
Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6
According to Hennessey, the first converted vehicles will be delivered to the lucky owners later this month. In contrast to the 600 hp strong Hennessey Veloci Raptor with only two axles, the 6×6 version is a bit "weaker“ motorized. "Only568 PS/416 kW (558 HP) and 911 Newton meters of torque ensure propulsion. But that shouldn't be a real broken leg. Because the increase in performance is enormous, especially compared to the standard vehicle with 458 hp (336 kW) and 692 Nm. But of course it's not just about engine performance. In addition to the increase in performance, Hennessey is also equipping the standard Raptor with a "special" Fox suspension and double locking rear axles on. They can reportedly provide 50 percent more traction. And the additional axle also enabled the tuner to increase the loading area from 1,67 meters to a stately 2,4 meters to extend. And the 2022 Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6 is a few inches too higher than the standard Raptor.
Lift kit and off-road tires
This is made possible by a combination of a 3 inch (approx. 8 cm) Höherlegung (Fox chassis) and the mighty Hennessey Performance 20 inch rims with even more powerful 37 inches (0,94 m) Off-road tires. A statement from Hennessey founder and owner John Hennessey: "Everything is bigger and faster in Texas. And our VelociRaptor 6×6 takes this concept to the extreme! Building on the capability, power and presence of our VelociRaptor truck, our newest all-wheel drive offering is sure to delight customers in the United States and beyond. Because with the power of the vehicle and the ability to get anywhere, we have a unique selling point".
At least 399.950 US dollars are due
The Hennessey VelociRaptor 6 × 6 of the third generation, however, should be violent 399.950 US Dollars cost, including the base vehicle in the form of the Ford F-150 Raptor. However, the purchase price includes all upgrades for the conversion and a comprehensive 3-year/36.000-mile warranty.
