Belgian designer Fred Krugger is mainly known for his breathtaking motorcycle creations. For example, there are futuristic interpretations of Ducati, or vintage racing motorcycles in the Yamaha style. Now, however, the designer has dared for the first time to put a completely independent four-wheeler on the wheels, the Krugger FD. With this model, Fred Krugger proves that he is also a great artist when it comes to automobile construction, and the design of the very bizarre-looking monoposto with free-standing wheels could easily have come from the dream factory in Hollywood.

Art deco design for a lot of attention

The art deco design of the racer, which was inspired by pre-war racing cars, looks so crazy that at first glance you can't even guess where it is in front and back of this rolling cuboid. In addition, there are no overhangs because the free-standing wheels have been attached to the four corners. It is probably the only four-wheel vehicle without front and rear overhangs. This extra-long wheelbase creates space for the engine, which is installed almost in the center behind the cockpit.

Interior just as unusual as the exterior

The interior looks like a mixture of retro and science fiction, and the materials used are exceptional. For example, an aluminum steering wheel is installed, which with its rectangular shape is reminiscent of the steering wheels of racing simulators. The pilot also sits on a wooden seat that looks like a garden chair. The extravagant designer has hardly thought about comfort features, but has given free rein to his vision of a retro-futuristic racing car. Wood and aluminum determine the cockpit, which is very reminiscent of a modern interior. There is a small one wind deflector, which is attached in front of the cockpit, but no full windshield and no hood.

Performance of a modern racing car

Thanks to the W12 turbo petrol engine from the VW shelf, which is used in the Bentley Continental, among other things, and in this bizarre vehicle by Belgian designer Fred Krugger, it delivers an astonishing 750 horsepower. The FD Race Car is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 in under three seconds, and thanks to the low weight of 1270 kg, the power to weight ratio is a breathtaking 1,7 kg / PS. This is absolute hypercar level, even if the crazy bullet looks like it is a pure one Trailer Queen and you couldn't drive it yourself, otherwise you would damage any handmade custom parts.
