2020 Lamborghini Huracán EVO RWD Spyder with 610 PS!

Automobili Lamborghini presents the new Huracán EVO RWD Spyder virtually, for the first time using Augmented Reality (AR) on its website lamborghini.com. The new V10 model impresses with an incomparable outdoor experience, with a lightweight design, rear-wheel drive and a specially coordinated Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS). Whether with or without a soft top, the inimitable sound of the naturally aspirated V10 engine, which brings the same 610 CV (449 kW) and 560 Nm of torque to the asphalt as the Coupé version, is a constant companion both in everyday life and in high-performance use. With an acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 3,5 seconds and a top speed of 324 km / h, the Spyder is an instinctive vehicle in which it is not electronics but mechanics that ensure the right amount of driving pleasure.

extremely light hood

The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder impresses with the optimized integration and function of the extremely light roof. The Spyder is a real Lamborghini with an incomparable silhouette from every perspective, both with open and closed soft top, which demonstrates its dynamics in terms of appearance and performance in equal measure. The exterior design of the Spyder ensures reduced air resistance, while the same downforce as the Coupé is achieved without additional aerodynamic attachments. The balance and dynamics of the rear-wheel drive vehicle are optimized both with and without a roof.

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said: “The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder stands for double, unadulterated driving pleasure and a top-class outdoor experience. The driver can feel Lamborghini's traditional engineering skills in every single detail. The coordination of the rear-wheel drive ensures immediate feedback and actively involves the driver in the action, while electronic intervention is reduced to a minimum. At the same time, he enjoys the special feeling of freedom and vibrancy that only a convertible can offer."

Open air driving pleasure

The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder is designed to appeal to the driver's instincts. The performance data are in the top range, but the focus is clearly on the driver's skills and the setup of the rear-wheel drive, which guarantees unadulterated feedback and maximum driver involvement. The specially coordinated P-TCS traction control ensures adrenaline-charged performance in every situation and provides continuous torque and maximum traction even during the course correction of the Spyder after sharp curves or drift phases. Especially when the convertible top is open, the sound of the naturally aspirated V10 engine, which responds precisely to every gas surge, brings the driver's senses to life even more.

Using the ANIMA button on the steering wheel of the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder, the driving modes are controlled with a precisely adjusted P-TCS. STRADA ensures stability and safety in every situation by reducing the slip on the rear wheels and more proactively controlling the torque output on surfaces with little grip. In SPORT mode, drift fun is the order of the day: Slip on the rear wheels is permitted when accelerating, and when the oversteer angle increases sharply, the torque output is limited to ensure stabilization and control over the vehicle. In CORSA mode, traction and agility of the vehicle at the corner exit are optimized in high-performance situations, thus improving dynamics and speed.

The body of the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder, made of aluminum and thermoplastics, sits on a lightweight hybrid chassis made of aluminum and carbon fiber with a dry weight of 1.509 kg and a power to weight ratio of 2,47 kg / CV. A weight distribution of 40:60 (front / rear axle), a double wishbone suspension and passive shock absorbers ensure improved driver feedback. The 19 ″ Kari rims with specially developed Pirelli P Zero tires have ventilated and perforated steel brake discs. 20 ″ rims and carbon ceramic brakes are optionally available.

Timeless design

The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder continues the powerful design of the V10 Lamborghinis with new features at the front and rear that clearly set it apart from the sister model Huracán EVO 4WD Spyder. A new front splitter and vertical fins in the widened, framed front air intakes and the rear bumper in high-gloss black with a new diffuser, which is used in the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder, are special eye-catchers. The top of the Spyder is stored electro-hydraulically under the cover in the rear within 17 seconds and can be operated up to a driving speed of 50 km / h. The soft top, available in several colors, is perfectly matched to the body lines and paint options of the model. The perfect background noise in the interior for trouble-free conversations and entertainment is always guaranteed, regardless of the soft top. The rear window can be operated electronically with the roof open and closed. When extended, it serves as a windbreak, and when retracted, the unique sound of the V10 engine really comes into its own. Two removable windshield elements on the side also reduce wind noise in the vehicle interior to a minimum and allow entertainment at high speeds.

An 8,4 ″ HMI touchscreen in the center console of the Spyder is used to control the vehicle functions and offers comprehensive connectivity services for telephone calls, Internet access and Apple CarPlay. The Huracán EVO RWD Spyder is what is called a “driver's car” and a lifestyle statement on top of that. The Lamborghini Ad Personam department also offers almost unlimited color and equipment options for personalizing the vehicle, which meet the discerning taste of every customer.
