Actually, there are already 20 years! 20 years in which no air-cooled boxer has left the band of Porsche. Actually… Because 20 years later, Porsche Classic is now building an brand new 993 with air-cooled boxer engine and original body and components. Is this really the “very last” air-cooled nine-eleven? Perhaps! The complete body of the 911 Turbo of the 993 type was created on the basis of the "original body". There was also a whole arsenal of original components. The choice of color was based on the “Exclusive Series” of the current 991 Turbo S. In other words, there was a gold-yellow paint finish in combination with a set of typical Turbo aluminum rims in black. The Alus also come with golden yellow design lines and the same applies to the exclusive interior.
Not to be missed of course, the side air inlets that are typical of the Turbo S 993 and in the year 1998 were installed at extra cost. The virtual world premiere of 2018er 993 is already a bit ago but the actual premiere was yesterday (27.08.2018) in the context of the Racing Reunion in Laguna Seca. Porsche was able to fall back on over 6.500 original parts of the 993 when building the one-off item, which is not even much in view of the over 52.000 stock parts. The production took 1 1/2 years but there is a perfect "gold treasure" for it. Incidentally, the painting was carried out in the production process of current vehicles, which means that the corrosion protection and the painting process are identical to those of a current 991. The 993 is powered by a completely new 3,6-liter boxer engine with twin-turbo charging and "factory performance increase 2 ".
This is joined by a manual transmission, 450 hp and all-wheel drive. The interior was specially made for this project by a saddler and provided with golden stitching and of course a badge on the dashboard with the note “unique item” should not be missing.
