From England one hears little when it comes to the topic of car tuning. Cosworth has probably seen exactly the same and the Toyota GT86 tuned and thus the Japanese tight 280PS on the way. Cosworth even announced that even more power is planned.
Cosworth has changed three important and decisive points on the GT86. Number 1 is the charge air cooling -> Number 2 is the built-in compressor -> Number 3 is ECU programming!
Cosworth calls these three components the "Stage 2" tuning package. Advantage of the whole, not only the Toyota GT86 but also the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S can be tuned with it because you have the same engine.
The data of the increase in performance is impressive, 280PS and 300NM torque bring the lightweight GT86 neatly on the move.
The factory output of the 2,0-liter four-cylinder is 200PS and 205NM torque. Cosworth also has for the GT86 and co. even specially developed catalysts and a complete exhaust system in the program.
The performance of the GT86 is expected to climb neatly up to 330PS in the near future.
Cosworth also wants to cover race track use apart from the STVZO and thus a performance version with 380PS is planned. We can be curious.
