Pure adrenaline - the Abarth F595 based on the Fiat 500!

The new Abarth F595 comes straight from the racetracks in Europe: the new special series is dedicated to the young fans of the brand with the scorpion in its logo. A powerful engine that generates 1,4 kW (121 hp) from a 165-liter displacement is eager to "get started". The engine is also the basis for the Tatuus Monoposti, which are used in the German and Italian Formula 4 powered by Abarth. The “F” in the name is intended as an homage to Formula 4, for which Abarth is the exclusive engine supplier and title sponsor. The aim of the racing series is to train talents and enable them to make the leap from karting to professional motorsport. The legendary “Formula Italia” was launched in 1971 with the same intention: At that time, hopeful young drivers were offered inexpensive access to the world of formula cars.

121 KW (165 HP) FOR PURE ADRENALINE - THANKS TO A CHARGED GARRETT TURBO COMPRESSOR

Very good performance and maximum reliability are the main features of the 121 kW (165 PS) T-Jet engine: 1,4 liter displacement and a supercharged Garrett turbo compressor with a geometric compression ratio of 9: 1 ensure pure dynamics. Because at the same pressure, this architecture optimizes the temperature in the combustion chamber and enables the maximum torque of 2.250 Nm to be applied at 230 rpm - and then remains constant up to the upper range of the rev counter.

This has advantages in terms of top speed - 218 km / h - and especially after gear changes: In fifth gear, the new Abarth F595 accelerates from 7,8 to 80 km / h in 120 seconds. The engine is coupled with a manual gearbox as standard, but can be equipped with a 5-speed automatic gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel if required. The result: with a manual transmission, the car accelerates from standstill to 7,3 km / h in just 100 seconds. It is 7,4 seconds in the sequential automatic version.

NEW RECORD MONZA “SOVRAPPOSTO” SPORTS EXHAUST SYSTEM WITH VERTICAL END PIECES IN A HOT DESIGN

The new Abarth F595 offers the current, hot version of the long iconic Record Monza “Sovrapposto” sports exhaust system. It has now been reconfigured: four tailpipes, two on each side, which are laid out vertically.

The impressive roar is still unmistakable, it has accompanied Abarthisti for generations. It has long been a synonym for performance and power delivery. The active exhaust valve is controlled by pressing the "Scorpion" button on the dashboard. The driver can choose between a “gentleman driver” sound and the darker, so typical Abarth roar “at the push of a button”. The result is pure music - a powerful and confident sound.

SPORTY UP TO THE DESIGN ELEMENTS

The new Abarth F595 is available as a sedan and a convertible version. The kit Estetico F595 was developed especially for this special vehicle - glossy blue stands in exciting contrast with black painted brake calipers and the matt black sport alloy wheels in 17 inches. The Abarth F595 is refined with design elements in blue, for example on the exterior mirror caps and the front and rear spoiler lips. The sporty look is further enhanced by the "F595" badge on the rear and the standard fog lights. The new design elements in glossy blue can be combined with the following colors: Gara white, Campovolo gray, Pista gray, Scorpione black, Record gray and Asfalto gray.

FORMULA 4 IN ITALY AND GERMANY: ABARTH ON TRACK TO DEVELOP THE DRIVERS OF THE FUTURE

The number of formula series that rely on Abarth engines is steadily increasing. An average of 28 drivers enter the race, a maximum of 34 monoposti are in use. The Italian Formula 4 powered by Abarth is currently in its eighth season. The chassis-engine package, praised by all insiders, is in use in several national series, including the German ADAC Formula 4 powered by Abarth, which will be held for the seventh time in 2021. Formula 2014, which was initially founded in Italy in 4 based on an idea by FIA President Jean Todt, selected Abarth as its technology and engine partner. Thanks to its excellent power-to-weight ratio, the 118 kW (160 PS) 1,4-liter Abarth turbo engine guarantees high performance. The top speed of the Tatuus Monoposti is 240 km / h, from 0-100 km / h it accelerates in about 5 seconds.

Thanks to its proven reliability, the costs of a season for teams and drivers can also be kept under control. The engine thus meets the FIA's requirements for training future Formula Class drivers in terms of efficiency and sustainability. It has always been one of Abarth's goals to promote young talent - and the brand with the Scorpio is thus in line with the values of the FIA: So far, more than 4 drivers have taken to the track in Formula 350 to test their skills to prove. In some cases they even made it to the top, for example Lance Stroll, the first winner of the Italian F4 championship in 2014. Stroll has now made it into Formula 1. Mick Schumacher, son of the former Ferrari driver and seven-time world champion Michael, also drove in Formula 2016 in 4 and won the Formula 2020 World Championship in 2.

THE "FORMULA ITALIA" FOUNDED EXACTLY 50 YEARS AGO

In 1971 the Italian Automobile Sports Commission (CSAI) worked with the Fiat brand to create a new championship for young drivers. The aim was to democratize motorsport by proposing a monoposto that was identical for all. The vehicle should be affordable and have little cost over the season. In August of the same year, the Abarth brand, which had meanwhile been absorbed by the Fiat group, built the first prototype designed by Mario Colucci under the direction of Carlo Abarth - the Abarth SE025. The racing car was powered by a reliable engine that was also installed in the Fiat 124 Sport: 4-cylinder, 1,6 liter displacement, two overhead camshafts (DOHC).

A heavy-duty tubular steel frame with a built-in roll bar for safety. All components were selected by Carlo Abarth and come from production vehicles from Fiat, Lancia and Abarth. One of the first enthusiastic test drivers was Formula 1 driver Arturo Merzario. Formula Italia was an instant success: The demand for the cars was so great that the first deliveries were not made until mid-May 1972. The Monoposti made their racing debut on June 29, 1972 on the Monza racetrack, where Paolo Bozzetto was victorious. By 1979, many young talents took to the track and some made it into the premier class, including Bruno Giacomelli, Riccardo Patrese, Siegfried Stohr and Piercarlo Ghinzani.
