A picture that three generation of the Audi RS4 shows the traditional tuner ABT Sportsline the days published. Only the "King" - RS4 B5 - is missing here ...! But the Ingolstadt's heart is still there. The B5 RS4, unlike its predecessor in the form of the RS2, was produced by quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm. The striking red painted bullet from the photo is an A4 B6 with the heart of the B5. This series was officially available with a maximum of 344 hp V8 vacuum cleaner, which, however, could not really score on the popularity scale of Audi fans. The huge bi-turbo power from the 2,7l six-cylinder (ASJ / AZR) of the B5 was more of a treat.

The then Audi subsidiary Cosworth provided 381 PS & 440 NM which helped the RS4 B5 to achieve incredible performance at the time. ABT installed this engine in the B6 without further ado and also gave it an increase in performance to 400 hp. Optionally, a maximum of 450 hp was even feasible. The copy called AS400 was limited to 25 handpicked pieces and also got an extensive body kit, 5-spoke alloy wheels as well as a modified chassis and an adapted braking system.

ABT AS4 R based on the B7

And like BMW with the former M3 (E90, E92, E92), the official successor of the RS4 B5 should also receive a free-sucking and high-revving V8. The RS4 B7 was born. But not with ABT. The tuner and the fan base from Ingolstadt still mourned the V6 BiTurbo of the B5 and so the ABT AS4R (2005-2009) also got the legendary engine. This time, however, there was an increase in performance to a whopping 480 hp and that ensured that the race track in Oschersleben was almost 1,3 seconds faster than the series. Visually, the tuning program is a bit more discreet, but there was also a body kit, lowering, new alloy wheels, a modified chassis and an adapted braking system.

ABT RS4-R based on the current B9

And like us already presented The current generation of the RS4, as the B9 model series, has also been extensively modified by the tuner from the Allgäu. The ABT RS4-R B9 comes with a brand new 2,9-liter V6 biturbo and is heavily pimped by ABT. Instead of the factory 450 PS, powerful 530 PS & 690 NM torque now provide propulsion and this ensures a sprint to 100 km / h in just 3,8 seconds and an electronically sealed top speed of 280 km / h. Visually, there is an extensive body kit with lots of carbon as well as chic aluminum rims, a modified chassis, an adapted brake system, and on request a lot of details in the interior
