It has been a few months since ABT Sportsline added a number of performance enhancements to its repertoire for the 2.0 TFSI and the 2.0 + 3.0 TDI of the new A5 (we reported). In addition, there were light alloy wheels, e.g. of the type DR and ER-C in 19 and 20 inches, and also subtle details for the interior in the form of door entry lights and floor mats for the brand new A5. Even then it was pointed out that they were working on an aerodynamic kit and this now seems to be finished. ABT has placed particular emphasis on the elegant design of the accessories. All versions of the new A5 (including the S models - not RS) can now be fitted with a sporty front spoiler and a striking rear apron.
The new aerodynamic parts fit perfectly into the design language of the A5 and S5 and the rear in particular is optically rounded off with an optional 4-pipe rear silencer system. Apart from the front spoiler and the modified rear apron, there are apparently no other aerodynamic parts for the Ingolstadt coupe, and if we're honest there is no reason to want to change the A5 anymore. With the clear lines of the stretched and sporty body, the A5 is an all-round successful and very unique vehicle from the factory and why should you want to change this with more than just a few subtle details? - Body kit (front spoiler & rear apron)
- ABT Power "New Generation" performance enhancement
- 2.0 TFSI on 330 PS (243 kW) & 440NM (series 252 PS & 370 NM)
- 2.0 TDI to 215 PS (158 kW) & 440 Nm (series 190 PS & 400 NM)
- 3.0 TDI to 250 PS (158 kW) & 440 Nm (series 218 PS & 400 NM) - Alloy wheels eg DR and ER-C in 19 and 20 inches, FR and GR in 20 inches (mystic black finish, gun-metal, silverbullet, matte black, glossy black, several designs with partial diamond-twisted surfaces)
- High performance tires from Dunlop or Continental
- optional door entry lighting
- ABT floor mats in velours
- S5 models (Convertible, Sportback, Coupe) with 354 PS (260 kW) six-cylinder and 500 Nm on 425 PS (313 kW) and 550 Nm
