ABT countdown for Audi RS6-S & RSQ8-S started!

ABT Sportsline regularly presents attractive new complete vehicles. In 2021 these were, for example, the RSQ8-R and the "Johann Abt Signature Edition" based on the Audi RS 125, which was presented for the company's 6th anniversary, both of which are now out of print. However, ABT fans don't have to wait too long for exciting replacements. Because in mid-January 2022, the world's largest tuner for vehicles from the Audi and VW groups will be launching the new RS6-S and RSQ8-S models. “Both score points with spectacular carbon add-on parts, striking light alloy wheels, perfectly balanced chassis and performance enhancements on a super sports car level,” explains managing partner Hans-Jürgen Abt.

740 PS Audi RS6-S & RSQ8-S

The Avant and the SUV are united by the identical V8 engine with a displacement of four liters, with the standard output being a remarkable 600 hp (441 kW). But the potential is by no means exhausted, as the performance upgrade ABT Power S * shows. It is based on the high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control (AEC), which increases the engine power in both cases to 700 PS (515 kW) and 880 Nm. Not enough drive yet? On request, ABT Sportsline can increase the power again so that 740 PS (544 kW) and 920 Nm are available.

extensive aerodynamic package made of carbon fiber

The extensive aerodynamics package made of “motorsport-like” carbon fiber, which has many similarities for both vehicles, but also interesting differences, fits these values. Both kits contain a distinctive front lip with the respective model name - RS6-S or RSQ8-S - in red letters. While the SUV has ABT side skirts at the front and rear, the Avant has side skirts at the front and sideblades at the rear. The two-part rear spoiler that can be found on both S models ensures the next wow. Just like the ABT stainless steel silencer system. With its four 102 mm tailpipe trims, it underlines the dynamic appearance of the vehicle.

On the chassis side, both candidates go different ways in the basic. With the RSQ8-S, the Allgäu tuner therefore relies on ABT Level Control (ALC) to make the standard air suspension even sportier. In the comfort level, it is now 25 mm down, in the dynamic level by 15 mm, in each case compared to the standard height. In the steel-sprung RS6-S, on the other hand, ABT Sportsline implants coilover suspension springs for variable lowering of up to 25 mm on the front and 30 mm on the rear axle. There are also sport stabilizers at the front and rear. This ensures a significantly lower tendency to pitch and roll and perfectly accentuates the gigantic 22-inch ABT High Performance HR wheels in the wheel arches. Thanks to the flowforming process used in production, the unsprung masses still remain in the green area, so that optimal performance is guaranteed. The same applies to the ABT RSQ8-S, where the same wheels are used - only one size larger at 23 inches.

loads of interior detailing

ABT Sportsline showed great attention to detail in the interior detailing of the two dream cars. In addition to the seat refinement and the door entry lighting, the customization includes the door sill trims, the gear knob cap in glossy carbon fiber, the start-stop switch cap and the steering wheel badge. Further interior options are available via an additional package. In both models, this includes dashboard and seat frame covers made of carbon. There are also rocker switches made of the same material for the Avant, which can also be ordered individually.

So that the two top-class bikes can be moved in a fitting manner right after their debut in mid-January, suitable ABT GR winter bikes can also be ordered. They have the same dimensions as the summer rims and guarantee an incomparably cool appearance in the cold season. The spectacular transformation in terms of optics and performance is available for a package price of 42.900 euros, plus assembly and TÜV approval. The conversion is carried out at the head office in Kempten or at the respective ABT partner on site, as required. Advance reservations are accepted immediately.
