Tuner ABT Sportsline has pre-buttoned the current Audi A1. And that should be of particular interest to fans of the "old" 231 PS S1 and the 256 PS A1 quattro. Because since 2018 they have to come to terms with the fact that the new A1 (internal type designation GB) will not be available as an S1 Sportback. Even if the 40 TFSI type designation of the 200 PS & 320 Nm strong top model suggests something different. But the note only means that an engine with an engine output between 125 and 150 kilowatts (170 to 204 hp) is installed. But that's no longer entirely true. The A1 with turbo-charged 2,0-liter engine from the VW Polo GTI is strengthened by means of Abt Sportsline chip tuning to a potent 240 PS & 360 Newton meters of torque.
the 6 second mark wobbles
Although the tuner does not yet provide any information about the new acceleration values, we assume that the 6 seconds mark wobbles (series 6,5s). And even the top speed could rise from the current 235 km / h in the direction of 250. After all, the increase in performance causes 10 NM higher torque over the Sport quattro whose VW EA113 four-cylinder "only" makes 350 NM. And optically, the 1 Series is also given more individuality. This is made possible by the 8,0 x 18 inch light alloy complete wheels of the type ABT SPORT GR in glossy black with diamond-machined rim flange, which can be brought along directly from ABT tires of size 215/40 R18 if desired.
ABT sport springs for subtle lowering
And on top of that there is also a lowering by means of sport springs with 25 to 30 millimeters. So the wheel set fits perfectly in the wheel arch. The tuning package for the A1 is rounded off with a start-stop switch cap with integrated and illuminated ABT logo. Not enough? ABT is currently screwing on one Single piece as Audi A1 1of1! With that should go significantly more. However, only exactly 1x! If we receive timely information on other changes not mentioned before, there is of course as always an update for this report.
