The further development to the T6.1 has made the VW Bulli even more desirable. No other open-top van has as many emotions as the legend from the Volkswagen range, which can be moved almost as casually as a car and is at least as cool as the trendy SUVs. Thanks to the vehicle refiner ABT Sportsline, the new model also gets performance-hungry and corner robbers at their expense. And here the new program for the T6.1 should seamlessly build on the sales success of the components for T5 and T6. It all starts with the ABT Power performance enhancements, which offer even more driving pleasure thanks to the electromechanical steering of the latest Bulli generation as standard. The “power cure” based on the specially coordinated high-tech control unit ABT Engine Control (AEC) is now available for the medium 2.0 TDI.

226 hp (166 kW) and 490 NM

This increases from 150 hp (110 kW) and 340 Nm to a remarkable 180 hp (132 kW) and 400 Nm. For the top variant with 199 HP (146 kW) ex works, an increase in performance is already in development. From the beginning of March 2020, an impressive 226 hp (166 kW) and 490 instead of 450 Nm will be available. The BILSTEIN coilover kit offered by ABT Sportsline is the ideal companion for the newly gained additional power. This option was already gladly ordered from the previous models and gives the massive VW T6.1 an unimagined light-footedness and precision. Depending on your personal setup requirements and visual preferences, the lowering is all around between 40 and 70 mm. As an alternative, a set of sporty suspension springs is also under development, which will be available in a few weeks.

20 inch ABT alloy wheels

With the narrower headlights and the large radiator grille, the new VW bus exudes even more premium character than its predecessor. The attractive ABT light alloy wheels add a lot of “sport appeal”. Customers can choose between the ABT DR in 8,5 x 19 inches - mystic black - and the ABT GR in 9,0 x 20 inches. The latter can be ordered either in matt black with a diamond-turned surface or in glossy black with a diamond-turned rim flange. If we receive timely information on further changes to the 2020 - ABT Sportsline VW T6.1 Bus, there is of course an update for this report.
