Just three days ago, the American tuner Hennessey Performance showed us that 800 PS strong Cadillac Escalade leaves a current Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on the quarter mile. Hennessey has had the performance kit in its range for some time and that Predecessor model was even with up to 1.000 PS on road. But as it is, we have little benefit from being an American tuner in America Modified a car that can only be bought in America. But the team of Geiger Performance (GeigerCars) is now able to remedy that because they bring with the Cadillac Escalade "Black Edition" not only the 5,18 m long monster to Germany but also an increase in performance on 448 PS.

The current Escalade is the prime example of a full-size SUV from America and the more that ever. And that's exactly what the US Car specialists from GeigerCars.de in Munich have decided to do now by putting together a performance package that will make the Escalade a "black edition" based on the luxurious Platinum version. Optical feature are the completely removed chrome parts that now shine in chic black. This makes for the mighty Escalade SUV for an extremely bleak and even more powerful appearance. And even under the hood something is happening. The large-volume 6,2-liter V8 direct-injection engine, which can certainly be described as a dinosaur of engine construction, gets a power upgrade from 426 to already mentioned 448 PS by means of sport air filters and in-house chip tuning software.

The torque increases at the same time on 621 Nm which brings the V8 on 4.100 tours on the crankshaft. Geiger also removes the unlocking of the electronic V-Max limitation and thus helps the Escalade to 240 km / h maximum speed. And unmistakably there was also a new "footwear" for the heavyweight. A glossy black painted 22 inch OEM wheelset stocked with Yokohama Parada XT tires in 285 / 45R22 dimensions that are naturally released for the new top speed. Using spacers, the track width is increased by a few millimeters and the wheel set perfectly aligned with the wheel arch edges.

The mass of 2,6 tons of course also want to be braked and so it's reassuring to know that the Escalade got a huge Brembo front brake system with 8 piston calipers and 412-mm discs, as well as 4 piston calipers and 380 discs the rear axle. In addition, GeigerCars has made a few chassis upgrades in the form of harder stabilizers on both axles which, in combination with sporty tuned springs and special steering knuckles, enable a significantly sportier gait and also ensure a subtle lowering. Not unimportant is the fact that Geiger has increased the trailer load.

All GeigerCars Escalades of the current model generation can now hook up to 3.500 kg. The costs for a Cadillac Escalade Platinium from GeigerCars start at 92.000 euros and include the “Black Edition” performance package for 25.900 euros.
